myLot Blog Submission Guidelines

The following are some of the guidelines the myLot editors use in their approval process:

  • Bloggers can be from anywhere in the world, however all blogs must be written entirely in English.

  • Blogs should be newsworthy and/or have mass appeal. Personal blogs are fine as long as they have good content and meet the above criteria. Blogs where users talk about their day to day lives without detailing some aspect that appeals to more than just their friends or most types of online diaries don’t appeal to a mass and are not newsworthy.

  • Blogs must be your original content.

  • Blogs do not have to cover only one subject or category. For example, a cooking blog that also talks about grocery shopping can be good.

  • myLot will only accept established blogs. Blogs that are less than 4 months old will not be accepted. If you are just starting a blog, please wait a few months until it has become established and has been updated regularly.

  • We cannot stress enough that content is extremely important. The following are examples of the types of blogs that are not accepted: adult content, commercial, racist, personal, adult content, not updated regularly. myLot also denies blogs that do not fit our formatting, poorly written blogs, blogs with excessive abusive/adult language, limited history (less than 4 months old), etc…

  • myLot does not accept blogs that are password protected.

  • myLot editors reserve the right to reject a blog for any reason they see necessary.

  • myLot Blogs supports every type of RSS feed. RSS 2.0, RSS 0.91, RSS 1.0, RSS 0.9, XML, ATOM. Feedburner feeds are ATOM feeds and will also work.
