Do you bake in the humid heat of Summer?

I try to stay away from baking in the summer because it gets way to hot. I might if my daughter wants cookies but then I make sure that my air is on. We are usually to busy in the summer to even cook inside. We do alot of grilling outdoors when it gets really hot.

I dont like to bake in the summertime. It makes the house way to hot. I usually buy all the goodies.

I don't change my routine based on seasons... unless it has to do with laundry or exercise! lol I will cook and bake in the summer, but I usually do it in the morning or later at night. We have air conditioning so it's not so bad. Even without the AC going, I've always baked and such in the warmer weather.

In the summer, I bake at night too. There are only a few times during the summer when it becomes too hot to bake if I want to. I've also baked corn bread and biscuits on the gas grill.

unfortunately I have to bake in the summer too haha. I do cook supper usually around 4-4:30 get it started so it is ready when hubby gets home. It is usually still hot out but I do try to grill more in the summer so it isn't so bad in the house. But tonight I will be baking. It is cooler today than yesterday though. I do have to turn the fan on high also because it does get pretty warm in the house with the oven going. We just have a window air conditioner and it isn't even in yet holding off as long as possible so fans are what we are using now! Still paying off heat bill and now seems like we have more heat for free hahaha.

I bake all year too. I live in the deep south so it's pretty hot all year round so if I didn't bake in the summer, that would mean not baking from March to November! I run the air when I do it and I try to do it when my husband is either at work or asleep because he gets so hot! I'm pretty cold natured so I'm okay with the over going.

I am not much of a cook anyway, but everyone in a while I will want to cook something...if it is on a hot su mmer day, i will just forget it, do it at night or another day for the same reasoning as you, the heat in the kitchen, so to speak.

Hi Elusive, In regards to baking on humid heat in our summer I still do bake but not as much as I do during the winter season. I do not like to buy food already cooked from the shop I prefer to cook our own or have salads instead.

I tend to bake more in the winter time, though I don't spend much time baking at all. I like to spend my time doing other things, and I just don't think I am a very good cook. SO, I buy things from the store, just to make it easier and not heat up my house. I have central air this year, which I have never had before, so we will see how it goes. I might bake a little more this summer so my kids have some treats!

I don't bake that often anymore at all, but my daughter enjoys it, so she'll likely do some this summer. I do use the oven all year long, but we have two window air conditioners, one on each floor. We live in a townhouse complex, and the heat becomes trapped inside, because we're in the middle of two other units. Most times, we buy store bought baked goods ... but it's just not the same.
