Rent/Mortgage....How much do you pay? |
|
I'm curious as to what other people are paying for rent or mortgage each month. How much do you pay? If you have a mortgage, does it include your taxes and insurance? How big is your apartment or house? We pay $1,260.00 for our mortgage, that does not include taxes and insurance. Our taxes run us a little over $4,000 per year and our home owners insurance is about $650 per year. We also have a 2nd mortgage of $360.00 per month. We took that to do renovations on the house. We have a 4 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath house, approximately 2,500 square feet.

4. GnosticGoddess (3452) | 2 years ago | WOW! You must have a really nice house! We own our home - three bedroom, den, one bath house - close to 1400 square feet. We pay between $750-800 depending on how much extra money we have that month (but are only required to pay $630). I want to get as much equity in the house as possible. We actually have two home loans. The regular mortgage and also a Home Equity Line we borrowed for the down payment. I can't wait to get that second loan paid off because then it will only be about $600 I pay every month. Oh our taxes and insurance are included in those figures too.

daycarepal (1133) | 2 years ago | Yes it is a nice house, but I would sure love to have a smaller mortgage.

5. 4MYGIRLS (5062) | 2 years ago | i have 2 payments. one is $386 a month which includes my taxes and insurance. the second one is $201.96 which is a government loan so it changes with our income. we bought our home through usda which is a government program to help families buy houses. they finance 60% of the loan and they have a band finance the other 40%. i have a small house. it is 2 bedrooms 1 bath and only 1,036 sq ft. we bought the house because it was a newly constructed house on 3 acres with a 3/4 acre pond and a pole barn. the pole barn is bigger than the house. how sad is that.

7. oneandonemakesix (24123) | 2 years ago | We were paying about 1600 for a mortgage that went into foreclosure due to my husband having lost his job, asn was unable to find work for 21 months. thus, we are forced to rent.....and can not get a mortgage. we pay 1350 a month for a 3 level townhouse. Its small, better than waht we were living in, but not great.... I have given up hope of owning a home ever again....its just not going to happen. Mooch

daycarepal (1133) | 2 years ago | Don't give up hope, you may become a home owner again in the future. My husband and I went through a tough financial time a few years after getting married. We thought we would never get a mortgage. It took many years but we finally did it.

lpetges (2324) | 1 year ago | its ashame that so many people are losing their homes. its not just the very poor that are fallen to the ways of crooked lenders. we have a real problem in this country at the moment with sub prime mortgages and rotten lenders. Now the banks are tightening up the lending, so even if some people can afford to purchase a home, the banks are not so forthcoming with a loan for us anymore. its a very sad time for america., and i dont see an end to this problem for a very long time. home ownership is worth nothing anymore, because all we are doing is holding the note for the bank. its not worth anywhere near what we all owe and the banks wont give any more money out for such a high amount,, yet the property taxes have gone up on the valuation 110,000 more on our home. we are in a very bad crisis, and all the government cares about is stupid money to send over to iraq or iran or whereever else any county but ours needs it. sorry, just had to vent..

sedel1027 (12147) | 2 years ago | Wow, that is a great deal. For that mortgage payment down here you can't even get a 50 yr old, 1,000 sq ft and a 2 bdrm, 1 bath. The insurance would run close to $200 a month.

monochrome_lie (245) | 1 year ago | 6 bedrooms? Wow. I pay $175/month more than you for a fairly average sized 2 bedroom apartment. I would love to rent a house but it's definitely not in our budget. My boyfriend is a musician so it would be nice if he had a space to play without noise being a huge issue.

10. scarywhitegirl (2477) | 2 years ago | We moved recently, so this may give you a sense of how much rents can vary throughout the U.S. Before, we lived in a college town in the midwest, fairly close to campus, and had a very small two bedroom apartment. We paid $430 a month for that, and had to pay our own utilities. We just moved to Seattle, and realized that we could not really afford a two bedroom apartment here, unless we wanted to live far from the downtown area. So we settled on a large one bedroom apartment (probably bigger than the place we had before, just less walls and doors). We pay $735 a month for that, and that includes our water bill. Rents here really vary a lot, depending on the neighborhood that you want. To actually live downtown, we would be paying over $1,000 for a studio apartment, and some of those are under 500 sq. ft.!
