I saw an article saying that Kobe wants to move on/get traded unless the lakers get some quality help for him next season. Check out the article here.. www.latimes.com/sports/la... share your comments...

1. brandonmagsino (441) | 2 years ago | Whether it is disappointment from being bounced from the first round of the playoffs for the second straight season or the despair from playing with a under-talented roster, Kobe Bryant, the prolific scorer of the NBA, wants out. Though being a Laker fan since childhood and even declared repeatedly that he wanted to be a Laker forever, the issue with O'Neal and Jerry Buss, owner of the Lakers, made things changed now. As a matter of fact, Kobe insisted to be traded and nothing will change his mind unless Jerry West will return to L.A. to fix things for the Lakers, with full authority of course for West. Kobe wants West back to rebuild the franchise. Kobe welcomes a trade very much. If somehow, the Lakers are unable to bring West back to the management, then it would still be no that easy as it appears for the Lakers to move him to another team. What would the Lakers be without Kobe? Well, let's just say that the Lakers without a Kobe Bryant will not be seeing the Playoffs for a very long time, if you know what I mean with that.=)

| francs (33) | 2 years ago | Let's face it. The Lakers are nothing without kobe. He accounts for almost half the team's points in every game. I think kobe is now realizing that he can't win by himself. Especially with the other teams in the west all getting better. This is surprisingly reminiscent of Tracy McGrady's situation when he was in Orlando and they suffered through a 21 win season. This would show how good a leader kobe is. These situations will define his leadership skills as to whether he can lead his team just like Lebron or not. Even if Jerry West does come back, it would take a lot of signings and trades to make the lakers competitive again. First, who would the lakers give up? Other teams will want quality players who fit in with their team. Also will the players the lakers give up be affordable for the other team who might want to sign a certified star instead if their salary cap permits. Just like what T-Mac, Duncan, Chauncey and Gilbert Arenas say... I believe it takes 5!

2. swapw07 (155) | 2 years ago | Highly doubt that Kobe will leave the team. However, Jerry West's pet talk is not going to work this time. As long as Kobe puts his foot down and push while holding his ground in his demand for better players to be traded to the Lakers I think Jerry West will give in. We shall see what happens on the news tomorrow. -Swapw

| francs (33) | 2 years ago | according to the article i posted, kobe is expected to waive the no-trade clause on his contract allowing him to opt out and add more value to his contract (around $9M) should another team decide to trade for him

4. kgwat70 (10131) | 2 years ago | I think they should trade him since basketball is a team game and Kobe likes to do all the scoring himself. They could get several good players for him plus draft picks so they could rebuild their team. They do not need a whiner on the team so maybe it is time for them to move on without him and have more good players on the team. The question is who would want Kobe and his huge contract.

brandonmagsino (441) | 2 years ago | Kobe is still very young, at the age of 29, he can light up the score board really. A prolific scorer indeed. Making him very, very, very expensive..=) If Jordan could read this, get KOBE. he he he

| francs (33) | 2 years ago | I think a lot of teams would want kobe.. Teams that are in desperate need of a scorer or leader would want kobe assuming that they would have the necessary cap space to sign him or enough talent to exchange for him in the event of a trade. Kobe does seem selfish at times but I have to admit that the lakers without kobe would never have any chance of getting a championship or even making the playoffs

| 5. azn2jj (24) | 2 years ago | mark my words: Kobe will not get traded. There is no way in hell the Los Angeles Lakers, the horrible team they are currently, would trade the best player in the NBA right now. The problem with the Lakers is that they are trying to position themselves in a rebuilding mode when they are a playoff contender right now. My best bet is that they will move some pieces such as Lamar Odom and Andrew Bynum for a player that can really help them and is in his prime, such as Jermaine O'Neal. The Lakers already gave up a lot for Kobe; they won't finish this Cinderella story by giving up the man himself.

| francs (33) | 2 years ago | I guess trading other players would be the logical thing to do. The lakers have done some pretty bad deals in the past and they should really think about this one. They gave up caron butler a few yrs ago and now butler is an all-star with the wizards. They also gave up Shaq who was arguably the best big man at that time for 3 players with only 1 (Odom) still playing for the team. My cousin who's a season ticket holder is also saying the same thing. Kobe will not get traded. He was telling me that with the prices of season tickets now, fans are getting impatient with mitch kupchak because they feel that they deserve a better season than getting eliminated in the first round. I agree with you. If kupchak is smart, he won't let kobe go

6. argie713 (718) | 2 years ago | Kobe is not and will never be a good franchise player. Yes this guy has loads of talent, but he lacks what Duncan has. He's nothing but a showoff who wants to get a high earning contract. He's an egoistic person in a team game. The Pistons never had Kobe. But they beat the hell out of the Lakers back then. For him to succeed he must set aside his ego. He was the reason why their dynasty was cut short. He did not want to share the spotlight with Shaq. This guy is a big loser. Look at Duncan. The Spurs may not be an exciting team to watch but they win championships. Duncan stayed in San Antonio even if Orlando made a big offer back then. This set an example for Manu and Parker. That is why their team stayed intact. I think he's better off playing an individual sport like tennis or sprinting.

7. dwaynepogi07 (102) | 2 years ago | Kobe is arguably the best player in the league right now, even the great King James admitted it...but Kobe is best talent-wise.as a whole package, when you bring in leadership, on and off court persona, professionalism, Kobe still has work to do. Those qualities, on tope of the skills, are what franchise players are all about. look at Jordan, Magic, Bird, Duncan...and if the time comes that Kobe gets those qualities in him, then he'll be the best player to start a franchise with. Right now, im sure Kobe will stay with the Lakers for the next 5 years at least. The Lakers will not give Kobe for any other player (a Lebron or a Wade may probably be the only trade offers they'll be interested in). What the Lakers should do is revamp the supporting cast and rebuild a new cast for Kobe. No other player in that lockeer room should be non-tradable. Mitch will stay, Phil Jackson should help him make good offseason decisions.

9. KrisNY (7347) | 1 year ago | We all know that it would be a BIG mistake for the Lakers to trade Kobe- they already proved how crazy they are when they let Shaq go- No I was never a Shaq fan- but come on really what have they done since? If they trade Kobe I don't see them being a play-off team for quite a while- I think trading Kobe would be a great PLUS for him personally- and I'm a huge Kobe fan- I'm a Knicks and Kobe fan- so wouldn't it be great if they traded him to NY?

10. Psychosis (359) | 1 year ago | Kobe shouldn't be traded because he is the only thing that is keeping the Lakers afloat. He is their franchise player and the team can't trade away the person that they have bestowed the welfare of the team on.
