Do you join competitions

yes i had been into competitions when i was young..I've been with choir competitions at school..singing competition to local amateur singing contest..i had been into academic too when i joined the quiz bee..writing competitions, narration competition at school..drawing competition..track and field..bowling..valley ball and a lot more..

i won some trophies and cash with those competitions..and for me it is a great thing to be involved with this kind of competition..it makes me gain enough confidence for myself to know i had compete with such intelligent people..

I too used to join some competetions. I am not good at singing but I used to participate in elocution and writing competitions. Now I no more take part in comps but with online opppurtinities I do participate in contests. For past few week I joined writing contests online and got few dollars as prize. Comming Thursday again another contest is starting on that site. So I am looking forward.

hi hersmart4ever.I have joined in several competitions in my childhood in my school and have won many prizes.I was participating in debates,singing,writing both local and english,quiz competitions,gardening techniques and some sports.You know i have joined the competitions in which i have good stuff and knowledge and left the poor ones because there were lot of competitions in our school.So i was choosing good ones that suits my taste and have won good prizes and have lots of certicates of the competitions.In the year ending we were having inter school competitions and we won somtimes in which i was also one member.thanks

I was in a spelling Bee in Junior High. I didn't take it very seriously, I only did it because I liked to spell. I did pretty good. I am not sure anymore which word I mised, but all I know is that I still can't spell it. I believe it is now a mental thing.

I didn't get to join competition when I was younger. I actually find them very stressful but as you said we learn a lot from it. I do wish I did join more of them and had the support of my parents.

i agree with you there. joining competitions help us develop a better self-esteem. when i was in grade school, i usually join academic competitions. i like it better than physical competitions (i am a sore loser in this area) because with it, everything depends on how i prepared. so when i win, there's only me to pat on the back and when i lose, there's also only me to put the blame on.

I haven't been as many competitions as you but i have participated in school competitions such as maths, English and science, (i'm not a very sporty person as you can see) I have won distinction in some of them and also. I would like to say that i agree with you, competition is important in our society, that is the only way people will compare, learn and grow! It also builds your confidence in later life as you know what place you stand, furthermore, it helps you develop your communication skills and also allows you to see more of the world, before you actually step away from your childhood cocoon into the cruel society we all live in=D.

Off course.I had been follow/participate some competition whenI was in secondary and high school.In secondary school I follow science group competition and I got the third champion,it's better than got nothing.I got some nice orize in that time.When I was high school,I had joined biology olympiad inmy city and I got third champion too.I ever partcipate in english deabate but unfortunately I didn't got any champion might be just experience.

i have entered a few different competitions, but it was a while ago, such as some sport activities. poems comp, and animal competition which i went fishing and i got the biggest yabby lol. i have the trophy in my house
