GIANT squid found on beach

That is one big squid.. wow..

Yeah I read about this, it's massive isn't it? not suprised it had the scientists in a frenzy, but apparantly marine scientist figure that we only know about 5% of what is living in our seas as some places are far too dangerous to explore.. Pretty fascinating really, who knows what's down there!

I had followed a documentary at Discovery Channel about an expedition trying to find the giant squid. What they actually did was to catch small squid that could be 'fingelings' of the giant squid. They were able to trap some but none survived when confined in containers. They were getting the 'fingerlings' because their underwater equipment could not go to the depths where the giant squids abound. A few months ago, I believe, a Japanese expedition was able to film the giant squids underwater. It was had to discern the real size of the squids on their film.
There were also some reports that those giant squids could grow to a length of 8 meters. That would probably include it's 'tentacles'.
