School uniforms?

When I was in elementary school I used to have to wear uniforms. We could wear polos, sweaters, or cardigans. So it was pretty cool being able to chose between the three, which as far as Im concerned is a lot better than having to wear the same getup everyday.

this coming school year my 12yr school is requiring uniforms. though they arent the coat and tie type. just a set of rules saying that shorts,pants and skirts have to be of certain color and length. and that polo type shirts of a few solid colors, without any logos or sayings on them. and of course appropriate shoes. no heels no flipflops.

i really think its going to be much better. that way the families in the community that cant afford to get the "cool" or in style clothing, dont have to fret about their kids being teased to death and the clothing required is available at a number of stores, including walmart.so you know its affordable. it will help with the little gangbanger wannabes that are cropping up in some of the schools too.

My son is only 3 years old and he already goes to the kindergarten from last month. He is not required to wear the school uniforms everyday, except for some special occasions.

Mine is like yours sons, I wear a navy blazer and striped bow tie, and sometimes a sweater vest too.

Yes I wear uniforms since elementary to college level. Our uniform in college is White polo and black pants.

Our school district does not require uniforms. Neither did the school district I attended as a child. However, I wish that they did. It would make school shopping a lot less of a problem, especially with teenaged girls! LOL

My school use to make the students wear plaid skirts or dress pants. The only colors they would accept was red, white and blue. The boys had to wear a belt or they would get sent home. It was a school run by the church and they were very strict about the dress code.
