For as long as I can remember my family members have told me not to take things personally. Once I stopped taking things so personally, I felt a hell of a lot better about EVERYTHING!

Sensitive people have a lot of pride.
They do worry about their looks and are very self conscious about it. Any criticism about their looks will offend them.
They take their work seriously and are often perfectionist. Any criticism about their work will offend them.
Sensitive people believes in "Don't do to another what you would not want done to yourself".
Sensitive people will not hurt someone on purpose unless that someone hurt them first.
If you are not sensitive... chances are that you are either a slob or a bully. Most people are sensitive to various degrees. Sometimes their sensitivity prevents them to become smart and wise... which in turn prevents them to learn to control their sensitivity.

 friendship (1233) | 1 year ago | What I mean about sensivite people is people who are easy to be mad or people who are always "carrying" on grudge to someone who may speak something non-intentionally. I think you know what I mean.... To deal with over sensitive people, it is a time consuming. REALLY. Because we have to speak and act VERY carefully. Otherwise, they're going to be mad a lot.
I do agree that we should be more sensitive toward others but we shouldn't take EVERYTHING PERSONALLY and you know what I mean... I have encountered a such person. It is very tired of maintaining a relationship with a such person. Because you have to be vigilant every time. As a human being, we can't always maintain a perfect mood where we are hoped to please him every time, aren't we? | |

But when sensitivity, according to you, prevents you from being smart and wise, must we then draw the conclusion, that you are dumb and thick, but getting better as you get older?

If your friend gets mad at you while debating the pros and cons of the climate change... it has nothing to do with sensitivity. However... if you call your friend an idiot for not agreeing with you... you are hurting its sensitivity... wether it is an idiot or not.
As for you Plooker... I said "SOMETIMES" their sensitivity prevents them to become smart and wise...
But it is true that you learn to control it as you get older.
