What is lomography? I've never heard of it.

I am sorry, I don't know what it is also. What do you know about it?

Lomography is the commercial trademark of Lomographische AG, Austira for products and services related to photography. The name is inspired by the manufacturer LOMO PLC (from Russia). This manufacturer produced the 35mmm LOMO LC-A Compact Automat camera, and was introduced on the market in the early 1980.

Lomography emphasizes casual, snapshot photography. Characteristics such as over-saturated colors, off-kilter exposure, blurring, "happy accidents", and alternative film processing are often considered part of the Lomographic Technique.

10 rules of Lomography:

- take your LOMO everywhere you go and whenever you go
- use it any time - day or night
- lomography is not an interference in your life, but a part of it
- shoot from the hip
- approach the objects of your lomographic desire as close as possible
- don't think
- be fast
- you don't have to know beforehand what you've captured on film
- you don't have to know afterwards, either
- don't worry about the rules.

I just recently found out about the world of Lomography from Urban Outfitters. I saw the cameras in their catalog, they had a lot of different ones that take fisheye pictures, some that take a series of pictures in the matter of seconds, and many more. I bought a fisheye camera, the quality is of course not that of a good camera, but you can take some really unique pictures which is definitely worth the $15 I paid for it. The only disadvantage of course is using film and if you get the fisheye camera it's really hard to tell what you have in the frame because part of the lens overlaps with the viewfinder.
