i like sea food very much but when it comes to lobsters and crabs, i am bit hesitant, but sure i have tasted them

Hello cupid!!c",)

Oh..i love seafoods, in restaurants i would prefer ordering crabs, shrimps and fish dishes!!! I don't know but these are so so tasty kinds of food and i think healthier that red meat.c",) just glad that i'm not allergic to these, i mean, there was a time that i had rashes after eating shrimps but it was long gone. Maybe it's not really because of the shrimps that i got rashes... Glad i could eat seafoods anytime i want.

hi mycharm, hope u must be doing fine. u r right that ur lucky that u can eat sea food any time. some people are really allergic to sea foods specially to prawns and shrimp.

I like sea food as well and o like sushi too

it make me hungry too but today wehave friend chicken

so will content on that

Nice friends, sea food lovers - for you i have nice recipe. Korean crab cakes.
Ingredients.
* 1/4 cup mayonnaise
* 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
* 1 tablespoon chopped fresh ginger
* 2 teaspoons Asian fish sauce (nuoc mam or nam pla)
* 1 (6 ounce) can crabmeat - drained, flaked and cartilage removed
* 3 ounces chopped shrimp
* 1 1/2 cups fresh breadcrumbs, made from crustless French bread
* salt and pepper to taste
* 1 1/2 tablespoons peanut oil
Method:
1. In a medium bowl, mix together mayonnaise, cilantro, fresh ginger, and fish sauce. Mix in crab, shrimp, and 1/2 cup bread crumbs. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
2. Place remaining 1 cup breadcrumbs on a plate or shallow bowl. Drop 1/4 of the crab mixture onto breadcrumbs, and turn to coat. Shape into a circle or oval. repeat with remaining crab mixture.
3. Heat oil in a heavy skillet over medium heat. Cook cakes in oil for about 5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.

Hi friend, there is Indian recipe for you also.
"Chayote stuffed with crab
Ingredients:
4 crabs
2 chayotes (custard apples)
2 carrots, roughly chopped
2 onions (1 chopped, 1 quartered)
3 cloves of garlic
1 lime
chives
thyme
flat-leaf parsley
chilli to taste
salt and pepper
1 glass white wine
5cl oil
bread-crumbs


Recipe:
1) ash the crabs and cook for 10 minutes in a pan of boiling water, with the carrots, the quartered onion, thyme, parsley and seasoning. Set asidea nd allow to cool.
2) Scoop out the crab meat, saving a few claws for decoration.
3) Wash the chayotes, cut in half and cook for 20 minutes in salted water. 4) In a pan, cook the chopped onion, garlic, chives, parsley and chilli, then mix into te crab meat. Loosen with the white wine.
5) Scoop the chayote flesh from the skin (save the skin) and mash with a little olive oil and the lime juice. Stir in some bread crumbs and season.
6) Spoon the mash into the chayote skins, topping with the crab mixture. Sprinkle breadcrumbs on top and pass under the grill for 15 minutes, or until golden."

My favourite sea food is crab..i love eating it specially when prepared by my mom..she cooks it so tasty that i can't resist my temptation before she prepares it..but unfortunately since no one eats crab other than me ..its cooked rarely only for me..only difficult thing to eat crab is the take away from the shell which is time consuming.

anyway u r right, crab is tasty, have u ever eaten sushi of crab?? its reallu awesome
as far as taste of mothers cooking, i think there is no match of mothers cooking in world. u r lucky that u r enjoying it

U r also very true that to eat crab is not that easy, if u donrt know how to take flesh out of shell, u may get injured.

what about other sea food and chicken, mutton, beef?

Right friends for th benefit of both of you i have given an article on how to eat the crab.
"Eating crabs can be fun, delicious and messy. Different types of crabs require different eating styles and techniques to best enjoy them. Jump in with both hands and experience some of the most flavorful seafood you have ever eaten.
1. On the bottom of the crab, pull up on the apron and break it off.
2. With both hands, pull the crab body and top shell apart.
3. Break off the two claws at the body knuckle.
4. Crack the claw shell with a mallet or a shell cracker and pull the meat out from the claw shell.
5. Remove the smaller legs on each side of the body by breaking or cutting with a knife. Some meat will be at the end of the joints.
6. When the body of the crab is exposed, remove the yellowish mustard like substance in the center, then scrape off the gills and the fat.
7. Break the cleaned part of the body in half to expose the delicious crab meat and then continue to break and expose the crab body chambers which contain solid white crab meat.

Hi friend, i am unable to speak more about this crabs since i am pure vegetarian. I heard crab meat is good for your throat infection. It has some medicinal value also.

hi sara, some times its really surprise me that how u can live on vegetables all the time, but then i think that u might have varity of receipe to eat and enjoy

i have been to some of vege resturants and they were good.

crabs are good to know, o dont know their nutrional value of these, i just eat for the sake of taste

but one thing is sure all sea food have Iodine in them which is beneficial for Goiter.

thanks, really intresting fact, but one another fact, i am not sure about ur sides but crabs are really expensive and u can only have them in resturants.

as its not common dish so mostly ladies dont know how to Break skull of crab and cook it.

It cant be regular part of diet here, u can have it as treat on some ocassion, other thing we have Hot climate so might not suit if taken in excessice amount

So enjoy

No i dont want to take that. while it is healthy food, but some crab are bad for health too as envisaged in th article which says"People should not eat certain Phillips brand pasteurized crab-meat products because of a possible botulism danger, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency has advised.

The products may be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum, which can cause botulism. Botulism can lead to serious illness or death, and must be treated early. Symptoms can include blurred vision, slurred speech, difficulty swallowing and paralysis. In severe cases, the paralysis can restrict breathing, requiring a ventilator.

Be ware and be healthy friend

Thai food receipie on crab and prawn
"I don’t think rice paper rolls are really a Thai dish. But rice papers (available in the supermarket in the Asian foods section or with the rice and pasta) make a great no-cook wrapper for this tasty salad. If you buy cooked prawns, this dish is purely assembly.
Preparation time: 20 minutes
prawns raw or cooked, 300g (I used Kingfisher)
crab 1 x 170g can (I used Sealord)
carrot 1, grated
cucumber 1 short, seeds removed, diced
kaffir lime leaves 2, finely sliced
fresh coriander 1 tablespoon, chopped
fish sauce ¼ cup
lime juice of 1
rice paper rolls 6-8
warm water
For the dipping sauce:
fish sauce ¼ cup
lime juice of 1
sugar 1 teaspoon
chilli flakes ½ teaspoon
If you have uncooked prawns, panfry them quickly in a non-stick pan. Set aside to cool.
Chop the prawns into small chunks, discarding the tails. Combine the prawns and crab in a large bowl. Add all the other ingredients except the rice paper rolls. Stir everything together well.
Combine the dipping sauce ingredients in a small bowl.
Fill a large, flat basin or bowl with warm water. You can now put this, plus the rice paper rolls, dipping sauce and the bowl of prawn salad on the table, and let everyone dig in and make their own rolls or parcels. Just dip the rice papers in the water until they become soft and pliable. Put on a plate and fill with salad, then wrap or roll up. (Or you can pre-make the parcels and refrigerate them until you’re ready to eat).
Other nice dipping sauces are sweet chilli, peanut, and soy sauce. Makes 6-8 parcels.
SERVES 4.Costis 24$ for full.

yes friend.it is costly but made in India it will be cheaper. once in w while you can have it.
There is Indian style recipes also.
"Crab Meat Indian-Style
Ingredients:

* 2 1/2 cups fresh crab meat or 2 cups (18 ounces) of canned or frozen crab meat
* 3/4 cup tomato puree
* Salt and pepper to taste
* Curry powder

Preparation:
1. Cook crabs in fish bouillon.
2. Open carefully without destroying the shells, collect the meat and finely chop.
3. Mix with tomato puree. Season with salt, pepper and curry powder.
4. Stuff the crab shells with this preparation (or use 4 individual oven-proof dishes) and cook in the oven for about 10 minutes at 325°F.

Good friend your intrest aroused on crab meat now. another recipe on crab food.
"White Crab Stock.
2 quarts cold water
1 onion, peeled and halved
1 garlic bulb, halved
1 turnip, split
2 celery stalks, split
Bouquet garni (4 sprigs fresh parsley, 4 sprigs fresh thyme, 2 bay leaves and 1 leek -- tied together with string)
1/2 lemon, juice
1 teaspoon crab boil seasoning
1/2 teaspoon whole white peppercorns
1/2 cup white wine
Sea salt, to taste
6 live Atlantic Blue crabs

Pour water in a large stockpot and place over low-medium flame. Add the vegetables and bouquet garni; cook for 5 minutes until the vegetables begin to become tender. Add the lemon juice, crab boil seasoning, peppercorns, wine and salt. Simmer gently for 15 minutes, stirring to mingle flavors. Carefully put the crabs in the pot and continue to cook for another 15 minutes. The crab shells will be bright orange when done. Remove and shell the crabs. Strain the stock to discard the vegetable solids. Reserve the crab meat and stock for She-Crab soup."

Nice of you friend, Car must be taken for taking sea food always. Experts say crab meat has lot of health benefits. I have now recipe of Blue crab stuffing.
"Ingredients
1 pound crab claw meat 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1/2 cup finely chopped celery 1/4 cup finely chopped bell pepper
1 clove minced garlic 2 cups crushed rich cracker crumbs
2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley 1 tsp dry mustard
1/4 tsp salt dash of cayenne pepper
1 beaten egg 1/4 cup milk
1/2 cup melted margarine 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
4 tbsp scallions (green onions)
Directions
In a large mixing bowl, mix the crab meat with the vegetables and dry ingredients. Add the egg, milk, margarine and Worcestershire sauce and mix thoroughly. Place the mixture into freshly cleaned natural crab backs, ramekins or a casserole dish and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until golden brown on top and hot throughout. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
Variations: Crab with Shrimp - 1/2 shrimp and 1/2 crab meat
Crab with Redfish - Use 1/2 flaky fish and 1/2 crab
Crab with Crawfish - Use 1/2 crawfish and 1/2 crabmeat.

The only sea food I enjoy eating is fish,and it is available in plenty in my place since I live in a coastal area.......But I do not like crab at all and have never tasted it.But I have heard it is very tasty and some people just relish it...I have tasted prawns also,though I do not fancy it much....

u r rights some times people cant eat prawns, lobsters and crabs even they know that they are delecious and lot of nutrition as the look and the way they are presented in resturant, they may not like it. Mostly they are served as a whole with eyes and other things with them and u have to just eat meat out of it, It might effect asthetic sense of few

When it comes to seafood I much prefer prawns, crabmeat is tasty but prawns are much tastier. I have never tried lobster, there isn't much meat on lobster and it is very expensive, especially when you go and order it in the restaurant. My dad loves swordfish too. Crab sticks are tasty. The worst seafood to eat is squid because it tastes like rubber.

yeah prwans are really best if u compare prawn, lobster and Crab. they taste good and they are really energetic. and when they are king prwns they are awesoe
lobsters are really expensive and have little meat to eat.

squid, i dont like that idea as well.

thumbdownI cannot handle to eat any form of seafood. Especially fish the thought of eating fish, literally makes me ill. Think my phobia of seafood started as a child when my sister through fish guts and eye balls at me, ever since then I have detested fish and other seafood.
