ear infections in 6 month baby

I used to get middle ear infections frequently as a baby and young child.
My parents used to put a warm compress against it, and it soothes the pain for the most part. If he is too young to hold the compress himself, try holding him and applying the compress for about 15-20 minutes, on and off, every hour or so. My grandmother had a rubber hot-water bottle that she used to wrap in a towel and I'd lay on that with my ear pressed against it. That helped even more. Wal-Mart or a drug store may have a bottle like that. The warmth helps.
If all else fails, try a hair dryer, not very close to him, and keep it moving constantly, with your hand blocking near his face and ear so as not to burn him. I hope he feels better soon! I know what he's going thru!:(

self medication is not good. you must take your sone to the special doctor of ear, nose and throat. panadol is pain killer. you should never use such pain killers in abudence. pain or infection in ear could also be result of catarrth or influenza.so you should not waste to think on and rush to specialist for better treatment please.
