where do you think today's US economy is going?  |

 Some (a lot) of people have said to me that it is going to go south. I surely hope not. I miss those days where things didn't cost so much and we had more time to vacation. Now it seems we work more for less. And at the end we end up with nothing in our pocket. Prices of everything is going up. What is your take on this?

1.  moonbutters (990) | 11 months ago |  I hate to say it but I honestly don't see things getting any better. Can you see the cost of gas going back down to $1.00 or a gallon of milk being $1.98 anymore? But yet minimum wage has barely moved in years. I remember when a pound of coffee was a real pound, now it's 14 oz and cost more. Same with sugar and most other dried goods. Sigh.

| 4. Aurone (1764) | 11 months ago |  I guess we will soon see where it is going. But the markers don't look good. The dollar is down. The stock market is down. Crude Oil reached over $100 a barrel which makes everything else more expensive and this Holiday shopping season is predicted to be the worst in 5 years.
I for one will be looking at the financial report on Monday to see how Black Friday went for retailers. Its a pretty good indication of how the market is, because the better off people are the more they have to spend on Christmas gifts and the Friday after Thanksgiving is one of the biggest shopping days of the year.
