This has been happening to me a lot and i was just wondering about everyone else on here. Did you ever have dreams/nightmares a lot when you were pregnant? The further along i have gotten i have had horrible nightmares about stuff happening to me/the baby. A lot of the time i was having nightmares that i was in a horrible car accident. So did this happen to any of you? If so how did you get over it?

i've had very vivid dreams with this pregnancy. One that i had the baby (i was about 16 weeks at the time) and s/he was perfectly healthy and ready for us to take home, i freaked out cuz we didn't have anything for him/her. i woke my husband up and said we have NOTHING for this baby!! he said ok... so? LOL
i have them it seems nightly about whether it's a girl or boy (can't wait to just find out in 2 weeks and get rid of those dreams!)
and a lot that the baby is in bed with me or i'm holding him/ her and i wake up looking for him/ her and freaking out that i lost or dropped him/ her! those are the worst cuz i have to be completely awake before I realize that Im still pregnant and i can quit searching for the baby.

then of course all the other ones that feel so real but aren't about the baby.

Luckily i haven't had many nightmares, but i'm sure as i get further along i will.

with my oldest son i woke up as a man was in my room about to take him when he was just a couple months old, i woke my husband up and he got the man out of the house and all, but after that i've always had really bad nightmares about someone kidnapping our babies, and seems the worst ones were when i was almost due with my youngest son and when he was a baby.

in the final stages before i had my daughter i began to have thes nightmares that i had her and she was crying and when i would go to her crib to get her she wasn't there. i would wake up and wander around the house looking for her. my dad would have to put me back to bed because i was living at home at the time and assure me that she was safe and waiting to come into this world. those dreams just quit about 1 week before she was born. i wish i culd help but i don't know what to say about getting over them. just try and ride it out

crazy dreams during pregnancy are completely normal.
fortunately, they are rarely prophetic.

your dreams are mostly your subconcious fears...and it is definately normal to have anxiety and be worried about a pregnancy!

when i was prgegnant with my daughter, i kept dreaming i was having a boy - we were "pretty sure" we were having a girl & wanted a girl, but there was still that slight worry...

the dreams will probably slow down once the baby is born.

it helps if when you go to bed at night you think to yourself you want to have a good dream and try to go to sleep relaxed.

you can always look your dreams up
www.dreammoods.com is a good website...
but keep in mind too the meanings are usually a little off while you're pregnant.

so don't worry - and best wishes for you & your baby to be!

I did have nightmares a lot when I was pregnant. I think dreams are just what you are worried about or what you talked about right before you went to bed. These worries and fears of something happening to you or the baby is normal. I did it too. What worked for me was just before I went to sleep, I would talk to my husband about how excited I was about the baby and how I can't wait to meet him. Then I started having dreams about the baby being here and holding him. I would wake up looking around for my baby but that is way better than having nightmares. I hope this helps you. Good luck and congrats.

The moment I found out I was pregnant I started having crazy dreams and nightmares. As I got further they got worse. I once dreamed that me and the baby got electocuted. It felt so real and I woke up terrified. Now I am towards the end of my pregnancy and they are still weird and crazy. My mother said that its very normal. Your body changes and you subconscious is sorta on overtime.

It's normal and nothing to worry about. I dreamed I was giving birth to a dolphin with my first pregnancy and that I was giving birth in a bucket of ice during my second pregnancy.
Dreams are more vivid during pregnancy and often, as in my case, really strange.

Thanks for your comment mom2rottie. I never really had dreams about whether or not it was a boy or a girl. I was just really anxious to find out. Then when I had my first ultrasound I didn’t get to find out. (the baby had his legs crossed.) So I was pretty upset about that. I have also had nightmares about my baby being kidnapped. I think that was the worst dream I had. I felt like I couldn’t do anything about it! And that was the most horrible feeling ever.

Thanks for your comment diana611. The dreams arent as bad as they used to be. Not even as vivid as they were. It probably doesn’t help that im a soon to be first time mother. And im very nervous about the labor and everything after. I live with my mom also so im sure if I have any questions she will know what to do.

Vera5d thanks for your comment. I know these dreams/nightmares probably wont come true. Its just the fact that they seem so real. They are so vivid that im sure they are real. But then I wake up and realize it was all just a horrible dream. Thanks for the website.

Bethyboo thanks for your comment. You might be right that dreams are what we worry about or what we talked about before we went to bed. But I don’t think I was talking about my baby everytime I had nightmares. Maybe im just subconsciously worried about it and I just don’t realize it. Maybe tonight I will try talking to my husband about how excited I am about having the baby. Maybe that will help out some.

Molllyrose thanks for your comment. That’s exactly how I am. The further along I have gotten the worse they have gotten. And each time they seem so real.

Mellissaruth1 thanks for your comment. I usually never remember my dreams either. But since I have been pregnant I remember every dream I have. I really wish I didn’t though.

If I missed anyone thanks for your comments also.

I've never been pregnant, but a good friend of mine is right now and every time we talk she tells me about these vivid dreams where her water breaks, or she's surrounded by pregnant women, or she loses the baby or has to deliver someone else's baby in a strange situation. These are happening almost every night.

She's having a lot of nightmares about weird things, too, so I'd gather you're not alone and it's not unusual.

Your hormones are doing this. I'm the same. I'm a few weeks along with my 5th and every single one, I've had weird dreams with.

I think the dreams you are having are your subconcious fears. You need to relax. Sometimes, if you can, when the dream starts, you are able to change the outcome, just by doing a couple of things differently. I do it all the time, and fight to stay asleep to see what the new outcome is.
