Have you ever read any books that are so utterly terrible that you reckon they don't deserve to be published? What was the book about? And why did you hate it? And what would you have written instead if you were the author?

I don't really remember much of it anymore. Not worth remembering. But mostly, if I wouldn't like a book, it would be because of a very weak or predictable plot.

However, every book is published for a reason. It may either the author wants to provoke something few people have ever fathomed or simply the author has bribed the publisher. The books I think deserve not publishing also include those plagiarise other's plots, theories or data. By the way, novels of a weak or predictable plot should not be published as well.

| whitestarr (24) | 10 months ago | I agree with you Mermaid... predictable plots are boring... i don't know how many stories I've read that are some form of the classical Cinderella story To Kentbush: Sometimes, i flip to the back of the book to figure out the ending too! I guess some authors actually pay the publisher to be published...

2. Kentbush18 (146) | 10 months ago | Surely I do! It seems that in some countries, people can publish whatever they want as long as they have money, without any governmental censorship. Since it is profitable, publishers surely have no objection to publish any books that do themselves no harm. Now let's go deeper into a problem -- why we think that book deserves not to be published? One of the possibilities is that the book is really bad, hopelessly bad. Another possibility is that we cannot understand the author, because our thinking and the author's belong to different dimension.
