Our wishes always come true..we just didn't know we wished it!

You never said a truer word, at least that is the way I believe regarding material possessions.
It is true and I can attest to it in my life experience for myself anyway.
There have been times in my life when I have had quite a bit more than I have now, and was not fulfilled.
I am not materialistic, it is just not the way I was raised, but when I had things, I was very appreciative of them, but not fulfilled.
I have been in close contact also with others who never stop wanting things and the more they have, it seems the more they want, not the opposite. I could never relate to that line of thinking.
And their unhappiness, unfulfillment is very apparent, and it seems always looking to compare with others and what they have, looking for approval..like "I've got more and bigger than you."
In a person's heart and soul lies happiness, contentment not in riches.
When people say "I am rich in love", I say that is the best riches of all..

hi Raydene thats an interesting viewpoint on wishing to be rich.
I think if I were really rich it would lead to more happiness as it would enable me to get out of that office job I dont like too much but have to do some 14 more years whether I want it or not. Simply because we have to live on something and the disability money my husband brings home is not enough to survive.

If I could stay at home because I am rich and can pay expenses with that money from the lottery or how ever it came to me, it would bring along the possibility to do things which make more sense to me than sitting in that dreaded office, letting THE BOSS determine whether I can be contented with what I did today.

Being involved in my Church a little more, being able to find new friends in this city what is not easy when you leave your apartment at 5 in the morning and get back there 8:30 the evening the earliest, having more time to keep up friendships with people who are far away through letters or phonecalls.These things would make much more sense than what I do now and I would be much happier then. So money can be a way to happiness.

You are so right, Raydene.
We make our own happiness and it is a choice, just like love. It is our choice whether to love someone or not. Material things cannot make one happy if we don't have love. One can be rich and still not be happy if he doesn't learn the act of giving and helping others in need. My greatest wish is to be able to give to those in need which makes others happy. True happiness comes from within, even on the rainy days.

All I can say sweetheart is becareful what you wish for it may come true! I remember a long time ago in a galaxy far far away when I used to wish desperately to have a relationship! I thought I wasn't wanted and I felt like a freak not having a partner. Then my wish come true and believe me I hated being in a relationship and wished to hell to be single again! So I am always careful now what I wish for, everything comes at a price, some wishes are costly some are bargain basement hugs xxxx

Many times we pray for something and its not what God intends for us or our life, and while we do get an answer it may not be the one we want, and sometimes we don't realize until years later that our prayers were really answered.

I think your example of the weather is perfect, I know not to long ago we had a long stretch of cloudy weather adn lots of rain, and when the sun finally did come through it was such a welcome joy and gave me a smile.

So you are right....we don't always have to wish for something and then get it to realize we really did want it.

Those are the things that money can't buy yet it is most precious. It is always taken for granted, sometimes ignore, sometimes forgotten. Spending time with the people with love and care. Even watching them smile and laugh or even take time to listen to them. We have made them happy.
People usually thinks of money.. not all do though. But to me money is only needed to buy things we need to live. But there are other ways to survive with only little money. What is more important to me are the things that money can't buy. Simple they maybe but it enriches the soul and soothing to the heart.

Well I believe that you are only rich when you have love happiness and people caring for you in your Life as no money can ever buy that or replace it
And I would rather have the love happiness caring then Money

I am not greedy, I am needy. I think those of us that don't have alot of money do wish to be rich. I don't need to be "rich". I am "rich" in other ways other then money. It would be nice to have enough money to not have to worry about how the bills are going to be paid. Your words are true. If you never know sadness how will you know happiness. If you don't know what its like to be cold, how will you know when you are warm. I think its human nature to always want more. I will tell you one thing I wish for........is for all my Mylot friends to have a most Joyous New Year.

You are so right Raydene, and we should be careful what we wish for. Riches do not bring happiness. Happiness comes in giving from the heart, without any thoughts of it being returned. So my wish is just to be happy!

I think there's definitely something to this, Raydene, and I might add the saying "Be careful what you wish for" is really a good one! Like "The grass is always greener..."

You're right also that for some, happiness will simply never come because if they get one thing they wished for then they'll decide they need something else, whether it's a material possession or money or, as you said, a sunny day! They'll want more "stuff", more money, brighter sunshine or a higher (or lower) temperature. Then lower humidity, less wind or more of a breeze or some puffy clouds to break the monotony of a perfectly blue sky.
