Remember why you love...  | |  Every New Years Eve I like to think and reflect,not only on the last year,but my life as well.
My husband and me met one day before New Years Eve 18 years ago and New Years Eve,18 years ago, was our first date.
So we also celebrate an anniversary and we look back to when and how we met.We talk about our first date and laugh about some of the things that happened. We then continue and remember all the good times we had and even the not so good times.
It reminds us why we fell in love and got married in the first place. I think memories like this, is what makes me love my husband even more.
I know that years can take a toll on a relationship,especially when there is a lot of financial struggle or other issues involved. But those are the times that should bond a couple closer together.
I know sometimes we feel like we reached a dead end and that the relationship has become stagnate and boring. We feel that the other one doesn't understand us anymore or doesn't even care to try.
This is often when one goes out and does something stupid that could damage the relationship even more.
That's why I think reflecting and remembering why you fell in love and married the one you are with in the first place, can help keep a relationship alive.
Men,look at your wives and remember that she is the one that stuck with you through thick and thin and through sickness and health all those years,because she loves you. Don't ever push her aside in favor of things you might rather be doing.
She deserves better then that.
Wives, look at your husbands and remember that he often wants nothing more then to protect you and take care of you,even if that means working long hours so he can give you everything he thinks you deserve.
No matter how busy our lives are, always take time to sit down and talk. Talk about anything and see where it takes you,sometimes a simple conversation can lead to deeper discussions and problems can be adressed more easily that way.
When is the last time you reflected on your relationship and shared memories with your loved one?

Even though we have only been together for 5 years and are only engaged, I am so happy and feel blessed that I am with him. And yes, we have our fights/quarrels, and I do have moments of giving up and leaving...but then I think about how wonderful he truly is and it makes me love him even more.
See, we have already been through so much in the little time that we have been together. He was only 18 when we started officially dating (17 when we were in the "talking" faze) and he immediately started taking over the "dad" role to my oldest son. We had a miscarriage 4 months into the relationship, and I have almost died on him twice. We've had our own place but we've also lived with his parents, and we have two kids together.
I love him so much and even though we are very busy, we do try to let each other know it...even in the most simplest way like in a touch, or a look. I feel very blessed to have him, and even through all the trials and arguments we have been through, I wouldn't have it any other way.
