breeding or upbringing

Some people can't let their past go and use it as a crutch their entire life for their own failures. Eventually we all grow up and make our own choices so there is noone really to blame but yourself for those choices. We can't help who our parents are, I just try to be the opposite of my mom because I would never ever want to be like her and so far it has served me well.

This is a very common debate between pyschologist. I think honestly its a combo of the two. I mean a person could be raised in an enviorment where ther's violence and crime everywhere.. but know that this isn't the way for them and in turn take another path. In the same aspect a person can be raised by two loving and caring parents, who do all they can to make them happy and turn into a psycho killer. So sure upbringing has a lot to do with how a person turns out.. its just not the defining factor in it. Its all a matter of personal choice. Take a man and teach him to kill all his life.. then expose him to love for a moment just to show him the difference. Just because all he's ever done is kill doesn't mean now thats all he'll ever do.

Situations and cirumstances don't dicate the person.. the person dicates them.

It can be both. The best upbringing in the world can lead to a child who rebels against how they were raised and they go knock over gas stations and wind up pregnant at 13.

Then again, the kids with the parents who don't care or are never home can also be the ones knocking over gas stations and having children when they can't even legally get a learner's permit yet.

It all depends on the child and what they want.
