remedy for dry lips

a very good one is to use vaseline... it sucks in the moisture alot more than what lip balm does..i have used this many many times... if they are dry already put some on for the next day or 2... but otherwise you can get away with just putting it on at night and leaving it on throughout the night.. good luck

Apart from using vaseline jelly and lip balm I use butter for my lips as I find this helps.

The best thing you can do aside form your lip balm is when you brush your teeth brush also your lips because this is also the thing I always do and applied a vaseline when going to sleep.........

I have only ever used lip balm type products on my chapped lips. I have used everything from Vaseline to Blistex, to Chap Stick and Carmex. As far as avoiding chapped lips I have no idea. I always manage to get them.

Dry lips may be due to the cold weather or due to allergy to your tooth paste or lip stick....

To prevent and repair chapping, use a lip balm or petrolatum based ointment (Vaseline, Aquaphor) to seal in moisture and form a protective barrier. Use it frequently throughout the day. Use a balm at bedtime which can help repair damage while you sleep (there are ones especially made for overnight which contain vitamins and aloe vera.

Keep the body well hydrated by drinking ample amounts of water each day. Also, humidify your home and office with a cool mist humidifier and plants so less moisture evaporates from your lips.

Hello dear glitzypurple. Usually lip balm is a good stuff to help with the dry lips, but if this is not to be used, I think that it would also be helpful by using some cooking oil. It helps as well.

If you drink alot of water, like you're suppose to anyway, your lips & body will never be 'dried' out. I learned this the hard way, with dry lips that use to crack. Now I don't have that problem anymore..Lori

My mother was tellin me (she's 78) that when they used to get dry chapped lips they would use Jergen's lotion, petroleum jelly, or Vaseline!

i usually used petrolium jelly it is good for drying lips i used it every night before i sleep too.

I apply petroluem jelly to my lips so it won't get dry. Most of the time, I also apply lip gloss or balm over my lipstick. In this way, my lips won't crack.
