I haven't noticed any dirty looks or stares... (except for those times my love and I kiss in public). However, I am quite aware that his mother doesn't particularly like me because of the color of my skin. That in itself puts a strain on us from time to time.
My mother makes some non-PC comments herself now and then, much to my irritation.
