babysitting and not getting paid for it  |

 well i got to babysit for my sister in law once agian. Shes looking for a job and i babysit for her while she does it. its been a full month with on and off babysitting for interviews and job searches. but no pay. which is ok with me but i need money too. and i know when she gets a job i will have to babysit everyday and then get minum pay. I am just helping her out but its kinda annoying. I have other people wanting me to babysit for them for free now and i tell them no b/c they arnt family and only family get freebes. does anyone else babysit for s/o family and dont get paid. or your own family. it kida sucks but i dont say nothing I just deal with it.

I am a baby sitter of two of my good friends kids. I did not charge her to watch them. She offered to pay me xyz a week. I said no problem. It is money well needed as well.
Your not able to care for your own needs while watching her kids. Someone should be figuring out a pay for you. It is not right to watch kids and limit your right to get money else where. Now if your going to sit and complain and do nothing. Then leave it all alone.
If your going to be up front with this person. Than you have to be strong. How old are these kids your watching? Does she take all day doing this? Does she know you have a life too?
let her know your looking for a paying baby sitting job. That your not going to be able to watch them much longer. Trust and believe he will find a way to get you some well deserved cash. Don't settle yourself for anything.

 libertarianfreedom21 (992) | 1 year ago | shes goign to start paying me as soon as she gets a job. and its usally no more than 5 hours a week right now. later when she does get a job it will be everyday. she has a 5 month old and a 2 year old. they are my nephews so thats why i dont complain jsut yet. I am 21 about to be 22 and a stay at home step mom. I could get a job but it has to be during the day. I thought about being a babysitter and know that i could make good money off of it I just dont want a bunch of kids running around my apartment yet. If i dont get paid much i wont babysit for her when she is able to pay me. Her husband works but he is one that doesnt care for stuff liek his kids (i know its sad) but if he was home all day and she was working he would still not watch his kids and she would still need to find a babysitter. | |

| giftsandbagscom (10608) | 1 year ago | If you wanted to baby sit you could choose the amount of kids. I had a child care license for my home. I am getting a new one when I move. The classes are not hard to do. You will have to have your back ground checked. But over all you will get top dollar for the kids by the ages you choose to keep. I will be keeping two kids and they have to be potty trained. Plus you could get kids who are on state aid and they get to go to school or work.

i really don't think i would feel right taking her money off her either even though im doing her a favor. i think she could of bought the baby something with it. i never really think of myself i could have no moeny but still refuse but like you say its family

3.  SViswan (3994) | 1 year ago |  Well, in India, where babysitting for pay isn't the norm, we always babysit for each other and babysitting for the family is taken for granted..lol...that's what an extended family is for!
You are the one who has to decided what is right for you...but "only family gets freebies" sounds right to me.
