| 3. kody00 (28) | 3 years ago | Mine is a 29 gallon with only 6 fish in it. I had close to thirty, but they all seem to die or get eaten... But two of them did have a baby! I'm sure there were more but they probably got eaten too!

4. adams03605 (399) | 3 years ago | I have a 55 gallon. In it I have a spotted puffer, chinese algea eater, iridescent shark (about 10 in. long.. he's big!)and I don't know how many platties.. they keep having babies. I used to have angel fish, but never have much luck with them, they seem to have to short of a life span for me.

neofelis (116) | 3 years ago | Actually, the bigger they are, the easier the water quality is to manage. A 20 or a 30 gallon is a LOT easier to take care of than a 10 gallon. My 55 gallon practically takes care of itself. Keep the lighting low and you won't have a problem with algae. (My 90 gallon is a bit more intensive b/c it's a planted tank)

Fishmomma (3418) | 3 years ago | I started with a 10 gallon tank and that was a huge mistake, as its a way to waste money quickly, specially if you have children who would like to each have a couple of fish. Its hard on children when their new pets die quickly from bad water quality. I still have that 10 gallon tank, but use it as a hospital tank and the tank is now over 20 years old. If you must get a 10 gallon, then get a 20 gallon or larger, so your fish have plenty of room to grow with easier maintenance. I have a 38 gallon and a 30 gallon right now.
