Mineral Makeup |
|
I have been seeing lots of advertising for mineral foundations and stuff. I have scars and stuff on my face. The people look so amazing after putting it on. I was wondering if anyone has tried this kind of makeup and does it work?

1. CurlyRed (2555) | 8 months ago | I have tried this Vicki. It is really quite nice to wear, very light and it does cover well. It doesnt hide wrinkles though.:( I was really hoping it would! It does hide red well. But all in all, it is nice and seems to be kind to the skin. No breakouts or anything, and my skin is pretty sensitive.

vicki2876 (2441) | 8 months ago | Ya Jess is a red head and has super sensitive skin. She is almost 13 and starting to get a few pimples. She would like to wear some cover up but I worry about reactions or making the skin worse. Thanks CurlyRed

vicki2876 (2441) | 8 months ago | Jessica's skin got blotchy from using it. She is okay but can't use it. It is hard to get anything for you all with sensitive skin.

dumblnddzzy (8826) | 8 months ago | No I don't mind one bit. My dad did this to me when I was young. He was very abusive to me, & then I got married to a jerk that continued to abuse me for 24 yrs. For a year & 1/2 now I've been free of the abuse. I couldn't of done it without my friends here, You ALL get all the credit for me being alive...hugs((()))Lori

3. AmbiePam (10762) | 8 months ago | I WANT to try it because I have read confirmed reports that it is healthier for women's skin. However, I have looked at the many different companies that sell mineral makeup, and I simply cannot afford them. From everything I've heard from real people, it does work. I would like to hide the circles under my eyes. I've yet to be able to accomplish that with anything else.

vicki2876 (2441) | 8 months ago | I hear you there! I had a photo taken of me and I looked like death with the circles. UGH! But jeepers I don't think I want to pay out so much if it is so expensive like everyone says.

Amberina (696) | 8 months ago | I do know that CoverGirl has a brand of mineral powder out I got mine at Walmart for 8 bucks I think. It's called TruBlend with minerals naturally luminous loose powder. It works great on it's own I have put it over liquid foundation and it's awesome that way sometimes I just like to wear powder and mascara and for that purpose this stuff worked great. Plus it wasn't as exspensive as the mineral stuff I have that too I paid 60.00 for a kit at this one store called Fred Meyer. I found that the mineral stuff gets all over the place when I went to apply it I hate wasting stuff even more when it costs so much! I must say that a little goes a long way and it does last awhile. -Amberina

vicki2876 (2441) | 8 months ago | My daughter's skin blotched up. My scars were enhanced!?!?! Did give an even coloring though. It was $15 for the small jar. Great if you are looking for even coloring and don't have wrinkles scars or sensitive skin. Not for us though.

4. above31rubies (1403) | 8 months ago | I use the stuff from Avon and I am very happy with it. I do not have scars or anything, but do know it covers other blemishes well. It is decently priced if you get it on sale (and I think it is on sale right now.) It took me a try or two to figure out to put it on in light layers. I do maybe three now but the first time put it on too thick and had blotches...lol. Anyway, I sell Avon and can give you a link to my site via pm by request only...but you can also just shop directly through the company at avon.com or find a local rep in your area (through the company site.) I haven't tried any of the other brands.

6. whywiki (2888) | 8 months ago | I just bought some of the Revlon Mineral Wear and I like it. I am still trying to adjust to the little brush thing but it hinds things that other foundations haven't. It was like $14 for a little jar which hubby gasped at but I hope and think it will last a long time. I have to admit it makes my skin feel a little soft and it hasn't made me break out yet. I have to give it a thumbs up.

7. Stiletto (3125) | 8 months ago | Yes I've tried it and I liked it. It looks good and feels really light plus it lasts well. My skin tends to be dry so I was a bit worried that it would be too drying for me but it wasn't at all. I think it was Sheer Cover that I bought - I got it from the Shopping Channel anyway. I liked the coverage it gave, I'm 46 so obviously lines are a bit of an issue for me. I wouldn't say it covered them completely but they definitely looked less noticeable and its very good for dark circles under the eyes. I didn't think it was too expensive because I do tend to spend quite a lot on foundation anyway and it does last well. The downside for me was that I found it a bit fiddly - all the mixing to get the right shade and then building up the layers and whatever. It just seemed easier to buy a bottle and slap it straight on lol! But I would use it again - it's worth trying.

8. awonderfullife (2331) | 8 months ago | I always see the infomercial for the Bare Essentials mineral makeup. I always wondered about it. I can't imagine a loose powder makeup covering very well, but peopel seem to say that it works. Now I see there are several drugstore brands like Revlon, so it's cheaper and I've been tempted to try it. If you try mineral makeup, let us know how it works for you.

vicki2876 (2441) | 8 months ago | Bought it and it didn't cover my scars or my daughters. She actually reacted to it with her sensitive skin and can't use it at all. Her skin all blotched out. For me it gave even coloring but made my fine lines show up more and the scars showed up more. For $15.00 I can't see me buying it again. I think it would be good for some people but not my daughter or my skin types either.

10. aidenofthetower (1159) | 8 months ago | I tried Loreal Bare Naturale Mineral make up. I don't have scars, but this is the best covering and feeling foundation that I have ever tried. It is soft and light feeling. It also covers my very rosey cheeks and regular breakouts (without causing more). If feels natural and is very comfortable. I love it. For what is supposed to be a one months supply it was $13. But I have had it for a few months now.

vicki2876 (2441) | 8 months ago | I did pick it up and it didn't cover the scars in fact they looked worse. It did give an even coloring to the skin. I did make my daughter's skin blotchy (sensitive skin). It cost $15 here. Not a bad product but not for our skin types
