Too much profanity in movies?  |

 It is shocking to me how much profanity is in movies. I watched SemiPro thinking itd be like Elf or Anchorman. But wow, F this F that, C**S**er this and that. Just so vile. How can this be a family movie with all that cussing. Wow somebody needs soap to wash their mouths out!

I mean it was all fluff, the cussing, the vileness, it addeded nothing to the plot, nothing to the drama. I can understand in some movies like Departed or Goodfellas. It is real to life, it is integral to the plot, people would cuss when there is major money or your life depended on it. For just a light comedy like Semi Pro why do that, why go there? | |

Here in the UK,we have a guy called Jonathon Ross who does a chat show on a Friday night.Its on quite late,and always has been.They used to bleep out all the F*** the guy said
But now they dont bother,its F*** this,and F*** that as you correctly point out.
I have even heard the C888 word used on tv,and it never used to be.

Honestly I don't mind swearing, because it really gets the point across and can be really funny depending on how it's used. They are just words anyways.;)
That being said, I haven't seen Semipro yet.

Also in some movies I haveabsolutely no idea why they do it! Like in the ring II, the whole movie went on and in the end for no apparent reason the girl was like "I'm not your effin mother" and I was like.... WHY?
