What do you wear if you go to church?

Our Pastor always say that we should dress our best, because we face God every time we go to church, and we do not want to give God anything less. Sometimes we dress more when we are going for a dinner, an office appointment or a formal gathering, we should give more for God. But as what you have said I also believe that God wouldn't mind what clothes we are wearing as long as it is decent, appropriate and modest. I think what matters most is our heart- it should be prepared in worshiping him.=)

I think that pants are fine for a lady to wear mrslisae. Times have changed a lot of the years and I think that appropriate clothes for church are included in that change.

I admire women that are able to fill comfortable in pants, especially those in their more senior years as it shows how they are able to keep up with the times.

I agree with what you said about God not caring about what we wear as long as it is modest. I think he is just happy to you there.

Don't let someone else make you feel uncomfortable or stop you doing what you want. There is nothing wrong with a woman wearing pants to church.

I believe that what we wear inside - a receptive heart and an open mind- are more important. But the way we dress also reflects to some extent our respect for the church, its members and God. Dress comfortably, dont wear worn out clothes. I have worn everything from Tshirts and Jeans to a tie and am most at home when I dress neatly.
Also I donbt think we should spend too much time or effort in dressing up that we miss the point of going to church to worship and listen to Gods word. i have sometimes been so conscious about how I look at church that the sermon just whizzed past as i was distracted!

hello there to U...i do wear skirts, just a simple dress will do, when i go to Church...i'm the kind of person who's so very simple...i would always say that i'm just a simple Christian girl who loves GOD...


Well, in your case, you wear pants due to severe pain on your muscles...i think that's pretty understandable...anyway, GOD sees the heart and not what we wear...


As long as you truly worships HIM, and your heart really is toward GOD, then that would be so acceptable...it's not the way we dress that counts, it's about how we truly worship GOD and obeys all HIS commandments...


In my own point of view, what really matters is the heart... GOD sees the heart and not our physical appearance... HE sees our beautiful inside virtues...


So i think you really don't have to worry what other people might say to you...as long as you're focusing on GOD...and everything's gonna be alright...

I don't think there's anything wrong with wearing some nice pants to church. As you say, as long as it's modest, it should be appropriate. I don't think God will care!

It's funny that church people could be so persnickety. It only has to do with appearances and not spirituality.

I have arthritis issues also and will dress to keep warm wherever I am.

I usually wear skirts, dresses and blouses. It's what's comfortable for me in that setting. A lot of people in my church are a lot more casual than that (jeans and fishing shirts) but I just don't go that far. I can be comfortable and dressed up at the same time! I would never judge someone on what they wanted to wear to church because I don't know the circumstances behind it, and it's really none of my business. If they're their to worship the lord, I'm all for them! I think it was wrong for anyone to pull you aside and tell you wearing pants is wrong. Since when? I'd like to think we've come out of the whole "men wear the pants" era...

I usually wear jeans or slacks with collared blouse or polo shirts.

I wear either a dress or a skirt and either a sweater or a blouse, but many of the ladies were slacks or pants as long as they are the dress kind and not blue jeans or work arounds. If you get cold easily, and the weather is severe, then you can wear pants. I would wear them if it was not so ingrained in me that I can when the temperature is forty below. One time it was so cold that my legs almost froze and I had my boots on as well and they were up to my knees, but I did not have a large clothes budget. So as long as it is modest and they are dress up, it is all right.

I used to wear dresses before but lately i would prefer pants but with formal blouses.

i wear a shirt, and a pants. something comfortable. i am used to wearing these when going to church.
