Arguing Religion!???

I agree with you completely and the funny thing is, I have yet to find a religion (at least among the more common ones) that says it ok to kill others or even fight with others about things like this. I have strong religious beliefs and obviously I think they are the "right" beliefs, but I do not argue them with people nor do I judge others based on their beliefs. I will happily share what I believe with others, but never shove it down someone's throat. Besides, I think the best thing anyone can do to "win" someone over to their beliefs (religious or otherwise) is to set a good example. I would not want to join a religion that is literally fighting others solely to prove they are right.

...I think most wars were fought over power and land or resources.. of course sometimes one race or sect will want to genocide another for the resources, land, etc.. The catholic/protestant wars were political in nature, that's to say religion was used for politics.. I do agree however that arguing over beliefs is not necessary and actually does more harm than good. I try to find common ground with others.. and there's lots of it! I think the fault or blame for wars and oppressions goes to human nature and not faith or non-faith, etc.. If there were no religions at all, I don't think people would get along any better.. We (humans) would just find different points of division.. If there were no races, for instance, bigotry would be based on hair or eye color or something..

Hence, the partial reason for my distaste in religion.

I agree that having massive events over religion is pointless but arguments are harmless. They're just entertainment and a good way to see what the other side believes. Pointless? Not really. It can strengthen your beliefs/disbeliefs.

I agree with you. But we can't wait till we die to know to truth. Get of religions and accept God, thats thr true way to reach God. All what human race got to do is- Pray (keeping aside everything you know & heard) to God to reveal the true way to you. And God will do that. Don't restrict God to anything. He's above everything we can ever imagine.
