oil crisis and who is to blame  | |  Certainly, the oil crisis and high prices are hurting everybody from guatemala to timbuktu and rom patagonia to alaska.
It is complex problem with many heads to blame but I do feel terrible to know that some arab hig rollers are gettin a new rolls royce every second at the expense of the whole world...and there is nothing to do. The USA spent billions of dollars defending Kuwait and Saudi and now theri response to the crisis is so weak and selfish that is hard to understand. Arabs are just creatig havoc and seeding for a world social crisis that latetly could hurt them most...

| | 2.  justabloke (243) | 6 months ago |  It's hard to blame anyone individually for the high oil prices, as one of the legitimate reasons is that the supply of "easy to drill" oil is on the decrease.
Saying that, I think the Bush administration has to shoulder a lot of the responsibility for getting this country into the war in Iraq. The drain on the US economy alone for the war is outstanding. It is currently over $340,000,000 a day. The failing economy is driving stocks down and for reasons I cannot explain, a weak economy seems to make the oil industry nervous.
It saddens me to see such a great nation fall so far as remember when I moved here 15 odd years ago and a gallon of gasoline was under $1.
