What do you do to make the most of the food you have and to make sure that everyone is full? I usually use rice or duplings to make stews and soups that much more filling. For creamier thing I'll use tofu.

Oh I love soup and dumplings and will serve over mashed potato with fresh chunky bread and butter in the winter for a warm filling meal. I always place a jug of water on the table too as drink seems to fill people up quicker too. I will add tinned baked beans to casseroles and stews and any extra veg I may have that needs using up. If I haven't much meat to go in I will add some quorm pieces from the freezer as it gives extra filling to a stew or even pasta pieces. Ellie:D

Hi there. I usually cook most our meals with either rice, pasta or mashed potatoes and pumpkin or salad as an extra side dish, this usually helps to make main meals go further, especially when theres extras around for dinner. I like to make my own thickeners. In casseroles I like to add, barley and lentils as well, these also thicken the stew. Have a good one...
