United Nations cutting it's Food Supply to Darfur  | |  Because of the lack of funds and the constant attacks on their convoys the United Nations World Food Program is forced to cut it's food supply to Darfur in half.
The people of Darfur depend on these programs to survive. Driven from their homes into refugee camps they aren't able to farm or raise animals.
What are the people of Darfur going to do without food?

How about the UN actually DO something about the genocide in Darfur. Like stop asking the government --- which is committing the genocide -- for permission to come in and stop the genocide. The UN Charter gives them the right to go in any place genocide is occurring. They don't need to ask permission.
If they stop the genocide, then people will be safe to farm and raise their animals. So, the UN won't have to feed them. It would be a long term solution to the problem. | |

I feel bad for the people of Darfur. But enless the UN actually grows a backbone and does something MAJOR to stablize the country, it will not be able to help them.
