i get bummed out hearing some of the things on the news..and even brought to tears before, but not growwed out enough to lose my appetite.

I lost interest in dinner, and lost sleep also, after watching similar things viz. gruesome incidents, poverty stricken people, etc. Since then, made it a point not to watch any channel during dinner!

Yup. That's what I usually do. Stop eating then switch the channel to something else. Then my appetite will come back a few minutes after if it' not that gory.
