A coffee a day could defeat Alzheimer's  |

 A group of researchers from the University of North Dakota in the United States published in the magazine Journal of Neuroinflammation, a study which showed that a daily dose of caffeine helps individuals to protect the brain from the harmful effects of cholesterol closely related to disease.
These conclusions were reached by examining the effect of caffeine on blood-brain barrier, a natural mechanism that prevents harmful substances to move from blood to the brain. As in the past other studies have suggested that high levels of cholesterol - found in fatty foods - may of the beneficial effects of caffeine may somehow help scientists to find a way to block the development of the disease.
The trials lasted 12 weeks, were made on rabbits fed with a diet rich in fats and the equivalent of a cup of coffee per day (3mg of caffeine). At the end of the period of study, the researchers found that the blood-brain barrier and 'proved considerably more intact in rabbits that have received caffeina.

Hers was early onset Alzheimer's diesease. I am a coffee drinker, and I do hope that I don't get the disease.

3.  luvstochat (5209) | 3 months ago |  I don't like coffee but I drink alot of diet coke which has caffeine so if drinking caffeine keeps alzheimers away I will never get it as I can drink up to a 12 pack of diet coke a day that is alot of caffeine and yes I know it is not good for my health.

I drink coffee whenever I get board and when I watch my favorite movies and TV series. I also drink coffee when I browse the internet, But I do believe that theirs also disadvantage when drinking too much coffee.
