Hollywood remake of Asian movies  | |  this year I know two Hollywood remakes of Asian movies that will be coming out. One will be My Sassy Girl (original from Korea) and the other one is The Echo (Original from the Philippines). But seeing the trailer of My Sassy Girl - Hollywood version from youtube, I was kinda disappointed. You can't help but compare them to the original.

I doubt it would be better than its Korean counterpart. Yes, you can't help but compare remakes from its original.
The Echo? Wow, this is the first time I've heard about this. I'm a Filipino and I had no idea about this movie. Is The Echo its original title?
Another Hollywood remake I know is Lake House (Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock) which is also from a Korean Movie Il Mare (My Sassy Girl's Jeon Ji Hyun). I have only seen the original so I couldn't compare the two; but a good friend of mine said the Hollywood version was actually better.

 aracir (290) | 3 months ago | The Echo is the remake of Sigaw (Richard Gutierrez, Angel Locsin and Iza Calzado). Although it's not the right translation, they used it instead because there are already movies called Scream if you remember.
Also, The Echo is directed by Yam Laranas, the same director of Sigaw, plus it also stars Iza Calzado in the same role so it's a big break for us Filipinos. | |

Most of the time the result is disgusting.
