Does pulling or cutting out gray hair make more gray hair grow? |
|
I was told a long time ago that if I ever cut or pull a gray string of hair out it will multiply. Is that really true or a myth. I found my first 2 gray strings in my hair as far as I know. I cut one out 2 weeks ago and it looks like it came back, now I wonder if I made a mistake by cutting it out. I really hope that I don't start getting alot of gray hair. Also does gray hair come from people getting on your nerves? I wonder sometimes, but in my Genetics class that I was told that it's just a gene that causes the gray hair.

2. Remembering1996 (1503) | 4 months ago | I started getting gray hair at the age of 14. yes I know that is young. My doctor told me it's in the genes. Seeing my parents started early that I would to. I just dye it now every 6 to 8 weeks.

3. cdparazo (3595) | 4 months ago | I think its a myth. All I have to do is look at my mother and I would its all a myth. With all the stress and hardships she has experienced, one would expect all her hair to turn gray. But at the age of 59, I still can't see any gray hair yet. So I would say its in the genes and the type of hair.

4. Rozie37 (6349) | 4 months ago | I can not say for sure on either one. I have heard the same things all my life. I really don't believe that either one of them or true. I have pulled out grey hairs from my friends and have not seem them multiply. There are also people whose hairs turns grey very early in life and it has nothing to do with stress. It is genetic.

5. wondericequeen (3532) | 4 months ago | I was told that too but I still couldn't resist on cutting or picking my gray hair. I don't want to see them*laughs*. But my mother always asks me not to and she is very seriously about it. I am not sure if it's true or not but I start to think that going gray could be a sexy thing*laughs*.

magnet (1430) | 3 months ago | Well I'm 33 now so I guess it's time for me to get a few. I only have a few now so I can hide it when I style my hair. When people try to guess my age they think I'm 10 years younger. I really don't want to dye my hair now because I like my natural color of my hair but a few years from now I might have to dye my hair if I inherit my mom's gray hair gene. Of course she dyes her hair. My Dad did not start getting gray hair until he was 53.
