Marriage

Here's an interesting article and website I saw about this problem. In short some people keep their marriage/relationship yet cheat on the side due to the comfort it provides or due to the guilt they feel about the whole thing.

The worst part is when people don't want to break either relationship, but then they'll return to the marriage/relationship and tell their partner about how unhappy they are (after months or years of cheating). Quite "encouraging" that people won't talk about their relationship problems until its far to late anyways...

People cheat because they are missing something in their marriage. Granted, there are no right or good reasons to cheat, but this is why. Most of them don't want to leave or lost their spouse, so they look elsewhere to fulfill what they are missing out on. What they should do is sit down with their spouse and talk about what is missing and try to fix it. If it can't be fixed then they need to go their own seperate ways. But that doesn't always happen.

maybe those guys where just playing and was just looking for a fling and have some fun.most guys,are like that.because they think that having more women is a sign of being more masculine or macho image.since not all regions have divorce in their laws other just have to stay separated and starts looking for a new one....so be aware and think twice before going into a relationship.

I agree with lovespecialangel. These people either married for the wrong reasons or are not happy in their marriage. Some people don't know how to talk about their issues with their spouses. I see this a lot in my workplace also. A lot of married people are sleeping with people they work with and they may think they are hiding it well, but they aren't. I can't believe how often it goes on. I am glad that my boyfriend and I can talk to each other as easily as we do.

i never did understand why people stayed married if unhappy until i was one of them. i think there are many reasons why people stay in unhappy marriages. financial reasons, for the kids, afraid to walk away and be even unhappier, because they feel the change would make their lives even harder and fear of losing custody of their children and i am sure there are more but i cannot think of anymore right now. it is easy to understand if you are in an unhappy marriage but if you are not married or are happily married i do not think one can understand the reasons for staying.

Some of them aren't really unhappy with their marriages. They just want more. They want to be in a committed relationship with all the comfort and support that this entails and to, selfishly, also have the excitement of a "new" lover.

They don't end the first relationship because they are happy with how things are. Or they are hedging their bets in case they can't "do better".
