Yes, it is especially, if it is for your own good. At first, you may not want to hear it. But later you will encounter a situation and their advice could keep you from out of trouble or save your life.

I will explain this with a small story..

X & Y are the best friends in their office. Once X asked Y, "What is the secret behind your happy married life?"

Y said, "You should share responsibilities with due love and respect to each other. Then absolutely there will be no problems."

X asked, "Can you explain?"

Y said, "In my house, I take decisions on bigger issues where as my wife decides on smaller issues. We do not interfere in each other's decisions."

Still not convinced, X asked Y "Give me some examples"

Y said, "Smaller issues like which car we should buy, how much amount to save, when to visit home town, which Sofa, air conditioner, refrigerator to buy, monthly expenses, whether to keep a maid or not etc are decided by my wife. I just agree to it"

X asked, "Then what is your role?"

Y said, "My decisions are only for very big issues. Like whether America should attack Iraq, whether Britain should lift sanction over Zimbabwe, whether to widen African economy, whether Sachin Tendulkar should retire etc. Do you know one thing, my wife NEVER objects to any of these".

X: "...????..!!!!!...???"

If you follow "Y".. there will not be any problem in your life..

Sometimes! they have more experiences about life, which can only obtain by time!

They will give your suggestions, but you can do your own decisions according to your situation!

When you growing up, you will meet more questions or problems have to be decided by yourself. However, that is always good to ask suggestions from your parents!

Do not forget that if there are people really do something for you withour asking any reward or profit, who are your parents. They do everything because of that is good for you!

Even we do not like when we are teenagers

we realize that later it is for our own good

and always parents want us only the best.

I had a lot of conflicts with my mom and

I was sure she is 'nut' but when I grew up

I realized that she was right then.

Now as I am a parent I would do the same as she did.

That is life, we learn from mistakes and it is a good

thing that we evolute .

There is nothing to hear the words of your partner.

Infact, in most of the family, the people always get the opinion of their partner before finalising every major decisions.

Its always better to consult with someone, and take the decision is best in nature, this will be common for all the activity, so, why don't you do that with your partner, whether it may be your husband or your spouse.

As of as my house is concern, we use to discuss everything, even our regular activities, we use to discuss in the evening, once we both come back to home, we sit and discuss the entire days activities one by one, as highlights..

Even if we will not be in a postion to find the time to meet and finalise, we will discuss the same by phone and get it finalise..

Asking/discussing with your partner is not that you are getting the approval from them, its only a sharing..

Sharing will defenatly will give you the better result, by taking the own decision..

You're right tilosky,but not all parents teach you a right way coz they make mistakes too...

for the most part yes . because they know better and have been there and done that . i know at times you dont get them, but they are always looking out for their kids .

not always, but usually. because they are very experienced, more so than you and want the best for you. they figure if they advise you, you wont get hurt as they may have.
