Have you ever felt like a failure? |
|
Most of us here have had some rough times either family, financial, spousal etc. I have been trying to get back on my feet after a long haul of all kinds of upset. I keep plugging forward, because after all of the failed attempts to get it right, I know eventually I will get there again and be just fine. I never really thought of myself as a failure though, I figure we must try what we think may work for us and if it doesn't well we can get onto something else to try, until we get it right or find success with our attempts.

1. winterose (11803) | 3 months ago | oh yes, I have felt like a failure and I do right now, because I am disabled and can't work at what I trained for. I feel like my education was all wasted, but you are right you have to pick yourself up and move on and that is what I try to do.

IlsaVunes (584) | 3 months ago | We are in the same boat winterose, but I don't think either of us are failures because of our disabilities. It happens to many people. It's not like we tried to do the job and failed, our bodies failed us. The thing is to not give up trying. Giving up, in my view is the only failure-failure to act. The education you have got you this far in life and served you till now. Many people have to change careers for various reasons, not including failure on their part but circumstances beyond their control. Some like me have many titles under my belt, and still have to change again.

2. drannhh (4429) | 3 months ago | Plugging forward is the only way I know of to get ahead, so I am a plugger, too. No, I have never considered myself a failure. Sometimes there are setbacks, but those are things that happen outside of me, they are not part of me. I judge myself by what is inside, not what is outside. Eventually you will get there!

IlsaVunes (584) | 3 months ago | Some things we do in life really test what we are made of, whether we succeed or not at them isn't really the test but rather what kind of effort we have made to make it. All we can really do is our best and to me that is success in itself.

IlsaVunes (584) | 3 months ago | There are many of us that have to start over and over and over again. I"ll be fighting like hell until there's no more fight in me and that will be just moments before my body says thats it I done and I pass onto the nest realm.

6. gemini_rose (6159) | 3 months ago | I think everyone at some point in their life has felt like a failure. I know I have many times, it does not take much to knock what little confidence I have and for me to feel a failure. I get very downhearted at times because sometimes it feels that everything I try to do with my life just does not work out and I get down for a while and then I think of something else to try until that goes the same way!! I am always trying something, and who knows one day I may even succeed!!

IlsaVunes (584) | 3 months ago | Maybe I can help you here a little. I have been battling with my weight all my life. Tried everything that was reasonable. I have lost about 40 lbs. on a low carb diet and its finally stayed off. I eased back into normal eating and it worked for me. You might want to try it. All I really did was cut out the really bad carbs like potatoes, white rice, white bread, and high sugar veggies like corn and carrots and the like, and of course any sugar!

8. vera5d (1958) | 3 months ago | there are many times i have felt like a failure. But you can't really accept it to be true. I try to see everything as a learning opportunity. It's hard to bounce back after we fail at something, but when you do it makes it all the more worthwhile.

| 9. kacy_kongrui (33) | 3 months ago | I condered myself as a success when I was in primary and middle schools because I know nothing about the outside except our school. I was a good student and I could get high score in ecamination, my parents and teachers felt proud of me. But when I an in college, I often think i am a failure because I find I am a common person, I will not be as promising as I was in middle school. But I find the more i think so, the more gloomy I become. At last I decided to cheer up, everything will be ok. Tomorrow is a new day.

IlsaVunes (584) | 3 months ago | A positive attitude goes a long way in the way we deal with both our successes and failures. I think a gloomy outlook just hampers our attempts to get things right. I'm glad you have cheered up and I'm sure you will be happier!(:

| 10. kity1986 (10) | 3 months ago | Everyone wants to be successful in the future,we usually concentrate on the joy of achievement and ignore the drawbacks in the process,Therefore we always do not know how to deal with the depression,I finally understand why there are so many people killing themselves when they are still young,Then often study or work under great pressure. So I hope everybody should have the awareness to fight against the situation, you should believe yourself, and do not give up all the time
