tonight's episode  | |  ok, so one of my all time favorite challenges was tonight- restaurant wars. in this case, wedding wars. i'm not sure that as a bride or groom that i could leave the catering completely up to some competition with absolutely no imput to what was going to be on the menu. but, maybe that's just me.
i do believe that the best team won and i thought that it was pretty awesome of richard to give his prize to stephanie for believing that she was the one that really pulled the group together. but, i don't like the way that the other team ganged up on dale. i think that he is getting an unfair wrap for being hard to work with. especially since the group really didn't want to take responsibility for the lack of working together (with the exception of alienating dale) or to stand behind their dishes. i can totally relate to being up for more than 24 hours and being exhausted beyond reason, but at some point, i think that these people need to realize that to ultimately become a successful chef, you've got to be able to work well with other chefs. but how psyched are you that nikki finally went home?!?!?!

Nikki is a nice person, but she at first took control of the menu, only to try to slide out of the responsibility later. I can't believe she stood in front of the judges and said she had not been any sort of leader in the challenge.
I wouldn't have a problem letting the chefs do my wedding. The couple had seen Top Chef for sure, so they knew that they would be of a high caliber. Although apparently that didn't stop the losing team from creating some mediocre food.
Dale did handle things wrong. But on the other hand, he had so much pressure on him, it just wasn't fair. He was obviously the more talented chef among the bunch, followed by Spike. Even though Nikki was familiar with Italian food, I still would have had trouble letting her set the ideas out, considering she usually doesn't do well overall.
I enjoyed Wedding Wars way more than Restaurant Wars. I was glad Richard gave Stephanie the prize (by the way, would Andrew get over be jealous of Richard already?), but disappointed that Tom actually said Lisa's cake tasted better than Stephanie's, even though Steph's looked better. I thought I heard wrong, but then I watched the episode again. Steph's cake sounded better to me.
Hope next week means aloha for Lisa, and if not, let's say bye to Spike!
