The whole world wants to help not only the USA. But I agree that is shocking what happened there and disgusting how their "leaders"are responding! 23 000 and counting dead and the world can only look on in dispear!

Is it just American aid workers they will not allow in? There were reports today that they wer going to allow 'registered, professional' aid workers in, with visas.

Really... visas?! That's almost as insane as not allowing people in to help! They're going to waste time and money vetting people??*sigh*

This means they are not really creative liars like the leaders of North Korea. Some time ago when the USA sent them food, their leaders told the people the USA was sending tribute in honor out of respect for their supreme leader. How's that for 'spin'?

This is heartbreaking and makes us all angry but you need to understand dictators to know why they are doing this.

Dictators look upon their people as assets, beasts of burden to increase their own wealth, and liabilities when the people need something. They look upon all those people that died like a cattle rancher would look upon a herd that had died--regrettable, but at least they won't take up resources and there are less people to cause trouble. They will breed more subjects.

The rulers of that land are barely even human. Now there will be disease and even more suffering from the delay in clean water and medicine. I can only hope that the U.N. or someone will be able to get everyone who wants to help a way to get in there.

they must have a valid reason for that...i watched it on news of how bad it was in there..almost other countries extended their help already and Philippines will send a medical team to help...

To start understanding the situation you have to go to the core of the problem. Dictatorships are the same all over the course of history and all over the globe.
Take de gulags in the former soviet union during stalin regimen. Take China and the cultural revolution. Go back a little bit to nazy germany, Japanese militarism. Or a little further like feudal europe or napoleonic france, carlomagne and the holy empire, romans under caligula or neron. An so forth...history just repeats itself with diferent names.Tirants always sacrifice their people in the name of a greater good...same excuse over and over again. And I am just choosing examples öf the so called western world. Not even talking about todays Africa or assian dictatorhips. Nor talking about latin american rampart corruption that silently kills people by the thousands.
In this case of Birmania they do not want foreing aid...maybe the will take it as means of enriching the military leaders that governs the nation..but that is all...maybe in the near future a social revolution will change the panorama...but in the meantime...tyranny will rule sacrificing everything..specially the people
