Where do they go?

I think the sad part besides that they have to even face the situation is that she was led to believe that she would be their guardian. I know she will see the children often and have as big on input on their upbringing as she can.

I hear you. From what I know from before and what I have heard since it isn't a matter of feeling hurt because of the discussion that was made. It is that she was told one thing and kept that in the back of her mind (who thinks about what if my sisters kids were parentless every day?)and then faced with something completely different.

Basically she says while she knows why the choice was made the way it was it feels like a slap in the face because of what they had been telling her.

So you do not have anyone in mind that you would trust your son with?

I totaly understand what you are saying I would be angry that I was lied to because its totaly wrong. Ok if they know they are going to die and they say I want you to have my kids in that case that is necesary right and they have to make a decision. But if its just talking and saying yeah I trust you so much it is uncalled for to lie there is no reason for it.
As for who I am going to live my son to someone I trust. Well there is my parents, my in laws, my sister, my sister in law and brother in law (husbands brother and sister) but I would prefer my parents or my sister then my in laws and the last case scenarion the brother in law and sister in law they are not married and have no kids so to have my son would make things harder for them.

Thank you. I feel the same way. You make sure that your child or children will be taken care of the best and that is how you make such a decision but you do not tell a family member especially what my friends sister and husband were telling her knowing good and well that it was not going to be the case.
