Freaky Weather

that's a very scary thought to see a tornado like that and actually live in Tornado Alley, I hope that that the season ends early:).

I've lived in TX, and was in Midland for a while, I'm not sure if that is anywhere near tornado alley, but there was one spotted the month i was there and my dad freaked out because he thought it was going to come to us, but I wasn't worried, if my grandparents were worried then I most definitely would have been as well

I'm from Kansas, so I know what the tornado alley feels like. Although, we've been pretty lucky in my area so far this year. Last Thursday night they were literally dropping everywhere. Most of them never touched ground, but they were everywhere. I play pool on Thursday nights, so of course I had to drive in it at 11:30 at night. While I was there playing pool, the sirens in that town went off four separate times. I knew I was going to have a fun trip home. The whole time driving back there were spotters passing me. Six spotters crossed the road in front of me heading East, four spotters were right in front of me heading North. I was behind the main system, and I was very thankful that it was farther North than what I needed to travel. The only time I could see the sky was when there was lightning. I've been caught in one tornado before, and I really don't want to be in that situation again. Very scary!

I am scared half to death of tornados. I always have been and even thogh we live in a house we do not have a basement and that is what really scares me we do not have shelter from the storm.
Our neighbors have always said we could come over there but what if we don't have time to get there? I will be scared until the season is over too! You are not alone.

weather can be a freaky thing. sometimes it can be extremely beautiful and sometimes it can be truly devastating. take a look at the recent events in myanmar. hope you stay "tornado free"

I completely understand what you mean. Last night we had tornado warnings from 9-3 am it was terrible. I stayed up until the warnings were over. I wanted to make sure I was able to get my family in the basement. Areas of Virginia near me were hit badly. I saw a house on the news that was destroyed.

Remember awhile back, the tornado story before this one...it was in April I think? Over twenty tornados crossed four states...only a few miles from Washington.

It was amazing that there weren't more casualities..but I call THAT freaky weather. That's quite alot for so early in the year, I think.

We used to live in a trailer too, and I used to dream about tornados hitting us..it's not a very awesome thing.
But you can always reassure yourself if there are any ditches nearby (which're ideal hiding spots if you don't have a basement of shelter to hide in). That's what we did, we had a creek.

Life's too short to live in constant worry though...be prepared but try not to dwell, hm?

Here in Ohio, we've had twice as many sightings and funnel clouds as well as actual tornadoes as this time last year. The other day one came within a few miles of town and I was ready to go to the basement at a moment's notice. The dogs have never been through such a thing but they knew I was a little nervous and were ready to follow me down!

I hope that any tornadoes give you a wide berth!

We live in Mississippi but that tornado was about 50 miles from here. My husband is in route sales and this is on his route. Two days ago there was one that hit Tupelo mall here is Mississippi. Lately they have been hitting all around us. A couple of them were really close about a week ago. Our weather alert just went off a few minutes ago and we under a tornado watch again. If I were you I would find a good storm shelter to go to when things get bad...if you haven't already.

Yeah, I've seen tons of footage from recent events. Well, even past storms are featured on the wonderful internet. Tornadoes scare the crap out of me. I could never live in an area that is called 'tornado alley'. How do you do it? I would be freaking out every day of my life. I sense that you're much braver than I am. Here in New Jersey we rarely have tornadoes, luckily. When we do, they happen no where near me. But, we mostly have little ones. They are still powerful, but they don't cause damage like in the Midwest.
