What do you do to curb your appetite?  |

I am just starving all the time. I have been chewing gum to try to stop me from putting food in my mouth, but I still have the hunger pangs. What do you do when you get them, is there anything we can do? It seems once I start eating it gets worse then. I really get hungry and just cant stop eating. Can someone help? Im not fat yet, about 15 pounds I want to lose, but if I keep this up I will be 200 pounds in no time. Please Help!! Diane

I have yogurt in the house and fruit so that way I am eating something if I must eat. Water though is a good thing to do because it fills you up. After I brush my teeth though than I don't eat anything else.

Drink lots of water, that's how i'm losing weight, plus I cut out anything white, bread,potatos,sugar,which is all starch & adds weight very fast. Cut out all your starches...Good Luck..Lori

I know if I did have a big appetite I would be absolutely huge as I am big even though I eat quite healthily and in small amounts! I know that having things like raisins and carrot sticks can be quite good when you are hungry and tempted to nibble - drinking plenty of water tends to fill you up to! xxx

carolbee (3740) | 3 months ago | I took Chantix and was so sick. Had to stop taking it. It was as bad as morning sickness. I did really well on Zyban about 4 yrs. ago but broke out in hives. I smoke too much but so far don't have any major complications. Afraid one day my time will come and I'll be sorry. Have smoked since I was about 15. Thanks for the information.

When you crave for sweets then frozen berries without sugar added are a lovely treat. I am diabetic and love those berries much more than ice cream now in summertime.

I know they probably aren't your favorite but try keepong some hard boiled eggs in the frig. If you are hungry have one of them and if you don't want one maybe you really are not hungry. Or try a big glass of water. Good luck

My doctor says that not eating is why some people gain weight. The body starts to store fat to use for energy when you finally do eat,because it doesn't know when it will get more fuel, thus weight gain. You do need to cut down on the portions of food you do eat and be sure to eat a lot of fiber, fruit and vegetables. You can still eat pasta and rice or even potatoes. I would suggest you eat whole grain or wheat bread not white bread and cut down on all foods with high Carbohydrates or Gylcimic load. Don't starve yourself that is not a healthy way to lose weight. Secondly, you need to have 3 balance and regular meals per day. Thirdly, between the meals, if you are hungry, you can have fruit like banana, apple, and pear etc rather than crisps or any junk food. For me, sometimes I will eat sunflower or water melon seeds to satisfy my taste bud. Since these seeds will take long time to peel and eat that I can feel full quickly. Meanwhile, keeping yourself busy will also divert your attention on the food craving.
