Grunt! Groan! Owww!

My hubby turned 64 this year and knows about old age! He is just starting to get Arthritis and has been feeling it more then ever this year. He works in a wearhouse and puts in over 20 hours overtime a week and that does not count the two hours commute! He also helps lift and move copiers daily and I do know the accessories to these copiers alone weigh more then 40 pounds each. He is pretty tough for an old fart and looks in his early 50s and it always floors everyone at the warehouse how old he really is. He is like his mom, she is in her 80s and is still going strong. I am the opposite, I lift 20 pounds and I am in the doctors office and laid up for a week!

Do I ever!!

I have congenital scoliosis, a curved spine. It's not noticeable but causes me a lot of pain if I don't watch what I do. Add to that some degenerating discs and arthritis and I'm severely limited in what I can do in the way of physical work, which brings me no end of irritation! I was always independent and now I even have to have a kid mow my lawn.

I have to take it slow and do things in stages. I dug a little garden for flowers last week and although it was only 15' x 2', along my garage wall, it took me two darn days! Ten years ago I could've done it in a couple of hours. Drives me nuts, and it's a pretty short drive these days!

Take it easy today, Grandpa, pop some motrin and hopefully you'll be good as new in the morning!

Old age ain't for sissies!

I have had back issues in the past and have been careful not to overdo it again. Luckily I have not had any back issues lately but I do have to be careful when I lift things now.

Sounds like a good excuse to sit inside and mylot to me....

I do know how you feel, but for me my aches and pains have bee coming from crutches as of lately and I've been popping motrin and advil and its just not helping me a lot...

But I am more able to deal with that kind of physical labor than my husband is...hopefully I will be able to get back to being active.

My back creaks at any and everything. It's creaking now and I just got out of bed a lil while ago. It'll loosed up in a while and then won't hurt so bad or be so stiff.

Bout dang time I got paid. Been waiting for months for my paycheck from here.

I am only 30 and sometimes my back bothers me. After looking at the picture of all of the soil you got out of the trunk I can see why your back hurts.

I have a syatic (? sp) that gets inflamed if I don't watch it. When it does man......it hurts like crazy and I have to eat ibuprofen for a couple of days every four hours. I initally irritated it buy helping a niece move from a four story apartment that had no elevator and she lived on the fourth floor!

Oh heck, you're just a youngster!!! I'm 54! Lol...and yes I have back pains. I have bone spurs in my lower back which causes alot of pain. I'm not allowed to get on the tractor as it causes them to act up. My syiatic nerve on both sides of my bunns, ache constantly. I live on SOMA's at night. Wonderful wonderful pill for me.
I just totally ignore my back, and continue to do what I can. My hubby gets mad and it's the only tme I know he can say "I told you so!"
Isn't getting older a pain in the back!!! hahahaha

You are only as old as you feel. Oh, that is probably not what you want to hear right now. I actually have a pretty strong back (knock on wood). I work to keep it healthy by doing yoga.

You do not have to be older to have problems with your back. I should know.I've hadvarious issueswith my back since 16. I think the trick is HOW we lift, using more of our core, and knees. Plus, no one should overdo it. Taking it slow, and not being hurried helps too. Hope you feel better soon.
