Dad thrown in jail for daughter failing the GED  |

 A dad has been thrown in jail because his daughter failing the GED. He has to serve 6 months. The daughter has an 18 month old child. The judge said if the daughter passes the GED before the six months is up that he can get out early. By the way the daughter is 18 years old. Should the dad being going to jail for this?

I do not understand why the father was put into jail, that does not make any sense. I wonder how hard it is to pass a GED? Hopefully yes will pass the GED test, so the dad can get out of jail.

I know someone who has a 16 yr old daughter and her stupid mother just signed papers to let her get married. she is not in school already has 1 baby and pregnant with child number 2...this mother should go to jail. this story is just absurd.

Heck I know of a new kids who never graduated high school or got their GEDs and their parents are not in jail.

| 3. raynemarie (27) | 4 months ago |  NO the dad should not be in jail for this reason. That is just completely ridiculous. I took the G.E.D test in May 1991 how much harder could they make it? I myself had a 8 month old son and was expecting my second child. I opted for the G.E.D. as opposed to putting myself thru the humiliation of re-entering the high school world. My class graduated in June 1990. I must admit tho I was no genius when it came to school but at least I made passing grades. My dad never would of gone to jail for me if I had failed the test. He would of been extremely pissed at me for failing it. Plus I do know that this law was not in effect at the time. I guess I will go look it up tho as to how hard can they have made it in 18 years. have a nice day.
