I could almost feel it in my ankles. But I really did like the movie a lot. Kathy Bates is truly an extrordinary actress.

 dasani (186) | 4 months ago | Yes, that scene made me cringe! The whole movie had a claustrophobic setting with dark humor. This was not a conventional horror, but an intense chiller with a backdrop of sadistic terror.
You are right, Kathy Bates first class actress. She was also great in The Waterboy and Dolores Clairborne. | |

But I still like to watch though..It's one of the best movie that Kathy Bates did..So, fanatic that she cut off her fave writer's legs just because she doesn't like the ending of the story..Poor guy, for just a fiction novel, his life was ruined..

For an old movie it was ahead of its time when you think about today's movies having a central theme of torture and pain like the movie SAW and so many others of that nature. I felt so sorry for Caan poor guy but that was the dark humor, as you mentioned just for a fiction movie he had to get butchered--it was so utterly weird you don't know whether to laugh or cry. | |

Who doesn't remember that scene with the sledgehammer and wooden block? She was crazy! The whole movie was insane. I saw it again last week and it still creeps me out.
