Oranges

This is a true story that I heard many years ago and would love to share it with you.

While walking through the local market one day a man with no money was hungry, he decided to steal some oranges from a fruit stall as they were his favourite fruit. Unbeknown to himself he was actually seen by a local policeman. The policeman followed him and then asked him to empty his pockets. The man did so and the oranges were discovered. On questioning the man had to confess that he had stolen them.
The policeman took him to the local police station and placed him and the oranges in a cell and took him that he would be back soon to take a statement.
The man sat with his head in his hands, he didn't know what to do, he had already in the past been in trouble with the police and this could be the time he may be put in jail!
He sat looking at the oranges and a thought came into his head, if there were no oranges he couldn't be charged with stealing them! He quickly peeled all the oranges nad ate them as fast as he could, and sat back feeling pleased with himself. A voice in his head came to him that the peel was still there! He didn't really fancy eating the peel but he didn't really have much choice in the matter!
Just swallowing hte last piece of orange peel the policeman returned with a fellow policeman to take his statement. On seeing no oranges... he could do no other than let the man go without charging him!
Its safe to say that that man couldn't even look at an orange without feeling very ill for a long time!!

This is truelly based on a true story that I read about 20 years ago!
