How to Raise Kids and Save the Planet | | This article from TIME magazine (May 2008) caught my attention. I'm not a parent or anything but I think this is something that all of us could do and not jsut the parents. So here are the article's suggestions on how to do this. 1. Make your own cleaning solutions. 2. Save school supplies by recycling. 3. Don't overuse appliances. 4. Trade paper towels for cloth. 5. Buy used toys. So how about you? In what way can you help our mother Earth?

I boycott made in China until they get their act togheter (so I boycoot all major US/European brand mostly). When buying new clothes I buy those made of organical cotton, or from fair-trade brands. I also buy second-hands: baby clothes usually are almost new because they have been wear so little. I avoid buying all those baby food jars, I made my own baby food most of the time. I did not buy any usless stuff for the baby room, just the bare minimum, and from local artisan when possible. I bought 1 pack of those baby wet wipes in 10 months, for camping. I clean the clothes using aleppo soap flakes (100% natural soap)
