What is the food that reminds you of your childhood?

Hi, for me, it's the ice cream,
When I was young, I likes ice cream so much. But now my teeth is not so well, so I rarely eat ice cream.
Oh, I'm not an old man now, I'm still young~~

I love pork steak with bread and milk gravy.This was my favorite dish next to fried chicken. I always asked for milk gravy with every dinner! I also love grandma's potato soup!

Root beer floats....and meatloaf. My mom wasn't the greatest cook but she could whip up one mean meatloaf! And my dad was a Watkins dealer who traveled around and on hot summer days would stop at the root beer stand and buy a quart of root beer and we would have floats for dessert after supper that night...

This is a great post! There are quite a few different foods and drinks that remind me of different times in my childhood but I have to say two of them are of ice cream. The one was the local Tastee Freeze which was a block from my house. I used to walk down there for an ice cream cone or a milk shake all the time and I can still taste it. There's still a drive-in restaurant there but it's now a local family that owns it and has been for years. It's still quite good, though. The other was another ice cream stand a bit further down the street from my house, too far for me to walk so I would bug and beg my dad constantly to go get us some ice cream from there and since he loved it too I got my way often enough. That place is long gone but I can still taste it and it makes me want it SOOOO bad! It was the best soft ice cream! I also remember cherry phosphates from our Rea & Derrick's lunch counter where my big brother would take me either before or after the movies when he'd take me.

as it to me, the food which my grandfather cooked remind me the happy time passed.

so many food reminds me when I was child..ice cream, milk, chocolate, cracker, and many.. but only one that I cant forget.. it's cinnamon cookies, that my mom gave me on christmast. I don't like it at that time.. but I don't know why, the taste,and flavor are still on my head. and now i like it from time to time..

mine is fish and chips.
when i was young my grandfather always brought fresh fish from the sea and cooked it to us,
after that he satrted making the french fries and all the house was filled with this smell, good cooking smell.
that is what mostly reming me of my childhood at my grandparents place.

I think probably my mum's home-made stew, the taste of pink-coloured liquid penicillin, candy floss, Rossi's ice cream, cockles with non-brewed vinegar, dolly mixtures, sherbert, iced gems, home-made jam tarts, ice lollies made with milk, Fry's Five Boys chocolate, junior aspirin, and Haliborange vitamin C tablets.

I think goulash, "city chicken" which ws pork on a stick, and stuffed cabbage. We had those things fequently. I remember my mom making those fequently. We also had barbecued ham alot. I really havent eaten those things as an adult.

Very interesting question. The food that reminds me of my childhood is chocolate milkshake! I just loved chocolate milkshake when I was a kid, and used to help my mom prepare it because she promised me an extra glass. Just recently I went out and saw someone order chocolate milkshake - it brought me some pleasant memories. I used to get a mustache after drinking - I never even bothered about wiping my mouth.
