Do you check myLotters' profile before adding them as friend?

ABSOLUTELY!

There was a time I did not check profiles I added anyone and everyone who requested me, but bak last year late, there was a rash of bans of some very good people with no real apparent reason, and needless to say that has led a lot of people to be more cautious about who they add.

Yes, I always spend some time checking a person's profile when I get a Friend Request. I am always curious to know why they have asked to be a friend.

There are quite a few who seem to think it prestigious to have a large number of friends and apparently issue Friend Requests in bulk and at random; there are others (thankfully a minority) who see 'friends' as a way of gaining access to PMs where they can advertise their referral links with impunity - or so they seem to think: if I receive such PMs, I generally report them to MyLot because they are no less 'spam' than 'discussions' that try to do the same!

For the most part, though, once I have looked at the discussions and responses a person has posted, I will accept the offer, even though I don't really regard them as 'friends', on the basis that 'a stranger is a friend you haven't met yet'.

I usually do check the profile before approving a friend. I want to make sure they are actually going to participate in myLot, not just spam me with referral links. If they have a low response count and only make discussions about their "money making opportunities" then I decline them.

Personally, I will accept friendship request if the friendship request is from the discussion I join. I will also look through the profile when I wanted to add someone as my friend.:-)

I think I have to follow your procedure in accepting friends request. I am new here, so every request I get, I accept immediately to have more friends. But some are fake. Do you think it will not be rude to delete some of them?

Yes, though I didn't used to. When I first joined here, I didn't hardly check anyone's profiles and most the of the requests were people that I knew from other discussions. But, I check now because a few people that requested to be my friend were people who wrote horrible discussions about hurting people in my country or other hate posts. So, since then, I check everyone's profile. I like to accept people who have made more than a few posts and started at least one or two discussions. But, I consider each person on a case by case basis, mostly.

I have hardly check the profile of those who requested to be friends. However, I'd check the profiles of those I wished to add as friends.

Many of those I added did not respond to my discussions. It does not matter to me at all. They would still be my cyberfriends.

I generally always do. I'm sure there have been times I haven't checked but usually I make sure to look at what they have written a bit and what type of questions they have. If they look like all they ever write about is their get quick rich schemes I just say NO THANKS!

I always check very carefully, look at the profile and the discussions started and responded to. I used to approve anyone until someone tried to bombard me with their get rich quick site, so now I check them out first
