Do you check myLotters' profile before adding them as friend? |
|
I already received many friend requests here in myLot and so far, I have approved all of them. But before I add them, I make sure that they are good people by reading their discussion, responses and their profile. I'm just being careful... How about you? Do you make actions to know a myLotter more before approving their friend request?

1. oneandonemakesix (24154) | 5 months ago | ABSOLUTELY! There was a time I did not check profiles I added anyone and everyone who requested me, but bak last year late, there was a rash of bans of some very good people with no real apparent reason, and needless to say that has led a lot of people to be more cautious about who they add. 2. owlwings (2421) | 5 months ago | Yes, I always spend some time checking a person's profile when I get a Friend Request. I am always curious to know why they have asked to be a friend. There are quite a few who seem to think it prestigious to have a large number of friends and apparently issue Friend Requests in bulk and at random; there are others (thankfully a minority) who see 'friends' as a way of gaining access to PMs where they can advertise their referral links with impunity - or so they seem to think: if I receive such PMs, I generally report them to MyLot because they are no less 'spam' than 'discussions' that try to do the same! For the most part, though, once I have looked at the discussions and responses a person has posted, I will accept the offer, even though I don't really regard them as 'friends', on the basis that 'a stranger is a friend you haven't met yet'.

wrangel15 (421) | 5 months ago | I can say that you already have many experiences here in myLot. In my case, I usually know when someone has added me as friend. It is because I have responded in his discussion in a good way. Mostly are like that and I approve them as a friend since I like the discussion they created. Actually, it is just the beginning of making friend that they are called a friend already. There's also a case where I have found a fellow citizen in my country and we became friend through chat.

3. theproperator (2079) | 5 months ago | I usually do check the profile before approving a friend. I want to make sure they are actually going to participate in myLot, not just spam me with referral links. If they have a low response count and only make discussions about their "money making opportunities" then I decline them.

wrangel15 (421) | 5 months ago | So far in my experience, I haven't declined someones request for being added as a friends here in myLot. I have known them through their discussions and nobody from my friends is doing nasty things with me here so far.

4. sdas86 (1826) | 5 months ago | Hi, Personally, I will accept friendship request if the friendship request is from the discussion I join. I will also look through the profile when I wanted to add someone as my friend.:-)

wrangel15 (421) | 5 months ago | Many of my friends have added me from the time I responded through their discussion also. In other times, I make a friend request if I have something for someone and that someone will help me also. It is also their profile that I visit before adding them as my friend here in myLot.

wrangel15 (421) | 5 months ago | It is for our own good to be careful in adding friends. There's no problem in deleting a friend if you have a reasonable statement for that. Anyway, you can just let the friends you have added and just delete someone when he/she begins doing nasty thing in this site.

6. desertdarlene (5652) | 5 months ago | Yes, though I didn't used to. When I first joined here, I didn't hardly check anyone's profiles and most the of the requests were people that I knew from other discussions. But, I check now because a few people that requested to be my friend were people who wrote horrible discussions about hurting people in my country or other hate posts. So, since then, I check everyone's profile. I like to accept people who have made more than a few posts and started at least one or two discussions. But, I consider each person on a case by case basis, mostly.

7. creationhub (1933) | 5 months ago | I have hardly check the profile of those who requested to be friends. However, I'd check the profiles of those I wished to add as friends. Many of those I added did not respond to my discussions. It does not matter to me at all. They would still be my cyberfriends.

wrangel15 (421) | 5 months ago | Same as mine I have friends and they usually don't respond to my discussions. It's not a requirement anyway. Having them as friends doesn't mean that they should always respond to your discussion. They also have their own interests here in myLot and they are free to choose which discussion to respond to.

8. hockeygal4ever (5466) | 5 months ago | I generally always do. I'm sure there have been times I haven't checked but usually I make sure to look at what they have written a bit and what type of questions they have. If they look like all they ever write about is their get quick rich schemes I just say NO THANKS!
