McDonalds gives me the shakes: Yay, my milkshakes R back!

Yeah. And I always liked their specialty/ holiday flavors too.

Are they good. Yes. Of course nothing really beats homemade. But some of the best ones I've had were when I was a kid/ adolescent. From Dairy Queen or Bob's Big Boy or Friendly's. And in my jr. & sr. years of high school, like other friends, we got our first paycheck jobs in moderately fast food. I worked at Burger King. Honestly I preferred their shakes-salads & onion rings.

But where I live in my neighborhood of Manhattan, there are more McDs a good hike away] by far than Burger King which is more sparse. And now that I think about it, I've not set foot in a Bob's Big Boy since I was 5 in Washington state; Dairy Queen since i was 20 & living in Maryland and I used to WALK BY a Friendly's after I moved to Long Island, NY. I was broke & I always passed it when pounding the pavement for work in 1994. I couldn't afford anything in there back then. There isn't one in Manhattan anywhere.

So are Mickey Ds shakes 'world class'? No, but they sate the cravings when u want a shake & ur on the go. And as I said in a previous discussion, a good, realistically priced milkshake is rare if not difficult to find in Gotham. And if U do, be prepared to be ripped off, I mean sticker shocked w/ prices like: $4., $5. and $8.bucks for a lousy 16 ounce shake!!

I used to go to Burger King when I got out of school and get a milkshake cause I love Burger Kings milkshakes,I can understand being closer to a McDonalds cause where I live there is a McDonalds like 5 minutes away,and it sucks that it has been that long since you have been in a Big Bobs or a Dairy Queens,and it sounds like a McDonalds milkshake would help on a hot day,and yeah I know it seems like some of the prices are ridiculous.
