I am with you on this one. A brilliant film from a great director. It was also the way he weaved the love story into this tragic event. Yes, Rose, her mother (Frances Fisher), her fiance (Billy Zane), the butler/bodyguard (David Warner) and of course Jack (Leonardo Di Caprio)are fictional characters. The character played by Bill Paxton, and the search, must be based on Cameron himself and his search for the wreck.
Whenever there is a poll, I have always given the film top marks. A great love story and a great way to tell about a tragic event.
