Carnival Ride Collapses, Injuring Dozens

I do not like carnivals or county fairs in the first place (that is, if they have any animals there, I won't go.) When it comes to the rides, I do not like them AT ALL. I will not ride them. I am too afraid! I don't trust the people running them or the people who put them up.. they just seem so rinky-dink with their cables and cords running all over the ground for people to trip on. No thanks. I do, however, like rides at amusement parks... you know, the kind that are not taken down and put back up again . I feel safe on those.

I don't really like the thrill seeking rides. My husband does and he is determined to get me on a rollercoaster but I told him there's no way that I'm getting on one.

This is horrible though. Last summer or was it the summer before that? Anyway, there was a girl who got her feet cut off by a ride. More and more you hear of these rides injuring people and I think that before they run these things, they have to be 1 100% sure that they are not going to malfunction because people's lives are at stake. Man, hearing this makes me even more determined not to let my husband get me on a rollercoaster...

I missed that in the paper. I live In Ca. thats just
awful. i never go on rides like that as so many
of these rides are not carefully monitored and there
have been other accidents before at county fairs in
ca. and injuries to boot. I stay off all such rides.

Oh, that was so sad.. I remember the cyclone loop (like a roller coaster) that we have here in the Philippines got stuck in the loop leaving the people hanging upside down for almost an hour.. it is really painful and scary.... They really need to check on the gadgets or rides before they can actually allow other to ride so accident can really be avoided as much as possible.
